The other morning I woke up and went down to my basement only to find that a window had broken in the night and let water in. We were getting the remnants of Ike and so there was a fair bit of water down there. Having only recently moved, there was a lot of stuff on the floor in cardboard boxes, and it all got soaked....everything except my Christmas stuff. Maybe 12 hours earlier I'd had this sudden urge to set up a little corner on the other side of the basement for my Christmas things so they'd all be in one spot. I stacked everything in heavy plastic bins. If I hadn't done that, most of it would be sitting by the curb today.
I can't imagine what people in Texas are going through right now. Just losing a few boxes of things was hard, imagine losing everything.
