Katrina, I was feeling the same way. We'll get through this. Writing out a list of all the things going on in my mind really freed me up. I set a plan and it just helped me to feel better about things. This week I'm just really focusing on the essentials for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Weekly:
  • Clean Bathrooms.
  • Pay bills:
  • Call:
  • Weed one flower bed.
  • Make a grocery list.
  • Buy groceries.
  • HHP
  • FlyLady: Kitchen
To do this week:
  • Sit down and work on making a list for this week’s early Black Friday sales.
  • Finish the November and December menu planning.
  • Make at least one side dish and freeze.
  • Finish shopping for stocking stuffers. 0ne item left
  • Pick up extra groceries for food bank Thanksgiving dinners.
  • Check wish lists again and see if there are any updates. Buy items if possible.
  • Work on wrapping service people's gift: bus drivers, trash crew, recycling crew, postal carrier and teachers.
Still to do:
  • Go through holiday magazines for inspiration.
  • Write out Christmas cards.
Projects to work on as time permits:
  • Make ornaments.
  • Wrap family gifts as they are delivered.
UPDATE: With the possibility that we will have to quarantine, I have some serious shopping to do. I'm rethinking how life will look around here for the next month. I knew time was of the essence but it has a whole new meaning to me now.

A great idea. I have a work "uniform" so wear the same clothes all the time. Makes it so much easier on a work day to just grab and get dressed

This week I'm just really focusing on the essentials for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
One of the big things that I was worried about was when we were going to catch up with DD and DFSIL. DFSIL grandfather is not well and this could be the last Christmas with him and they would like to be able to spend the time with his family. Totally get it. So we will get together here on the Saturday before Christmas, exchange our gifts, have dinner and maybe look at Christmas lights. If they happen to get to us on Christmas morning, great. If not all will be OK too. I am happy with this arrangement.

I think that is a wonderful approach! It's really spending time with family and making great memories that's important.

I will admit that there are a few things that I have enjoyed during this year. I like that the crowds are less when I go out, I like that for the most part people are more aware of others around them. I feel the pace is a little slower. I have gone back to basics with a few things.
Not all doom and gloom, there has been a few light moments.
