Ruby slippers for baby

My cousin is having a baby not long before Christmas. I don't know her that well, but thought I should make something for the baby. I found some glittery red wool which I think would be really overpowering in a baby sweater, but then I came across this pattern:

What do you think of ruby slippers for a baby? I think it could be cute if I maybe packaged it with a little stuffed dog or something else with a Wizard of Oz theme. What do you think?

Hmm...well I must have knit these a little tighter than intended because they are barely 2 inches long. They look so cute though, that I'm thinking if they are too small for a baby they may look really cute on a Christmas tree!
