This week sees us enter our 5th week of lockdown. We continue to keep busy with HGP and gardening. What we do miss is catching up with friends and family and being able to 'pop' out to the shops or garden centre. We will be getting updates on Tuesday as to whether or not the lockdown will continue.
In the meantime we will deal with the situation with as much patience as we can and use the time we have to get ahead of the game.

Now that HGP and HHP have started look at HGP. Is it working for me? How can I improve it? ( ) More seasonal cleaning ( )
Maybe a fusion of both, take what I like from each one and make my own plan. I have time now to look at them both.

Word of the Year:

Since the hurricane blew through, the weather has been quite pleasant. It has made clean up bearable. Today starts the heat and humidity again. Beginning mid week, I'll be helping to set up a music festival for next weekend. Monday and Tuesday will be super busy as I try to get to the key things from this list and the HHP.

  • Weed Gardens
  • Clean Bathrooms.
  • Pay bills - medical
  • Make cakes.
  • Wrap birthday gifts and sign cards
  • Correspondence: Family History group;
  • Appts: Monday: Late Pick Up; Tuesday: Austen Book Club; Wednesday: Festival Prep ; Thursday: Festival Prep; Friday: Festival Prep
  • Menu Planning
    • Menu plan for upcoming week.
    • Check that ingredients for planned meals are in the house.
    • Make a grocery list.
    • Buy groceries.
    • Food Prep: Cut up onions, peppers and carrots, etc, for upcoming meals.
  • FlyLady: Mudroom Room & Laundry area
    • Sweep
    • Dust
    • Wipe down washer and dryer
    • Empty Trash can
  • Do weekly reflection.
  • Staple reflection papers to the planner pages.
  • Update journal.
  • Declutter boxes from the closet.
  • HHP - Additional things to do
    • Work on the items on the Holiday Spruce Up list.
    • Inventory Christmas Cards, Stamps and Christmas card list.
    • Look through the new catalog and place order for cards.
    • Prepare dry mixes for holiday baking: 3 mixes done, 4 more to make

Katrina, it sounds like you are doing your best with the lockdown. It was hard keeping up the positive attitude. At times, I just let out my disappointment for all of the "what should have beens" out. It was very therapeutic and I knew that I wasn't the only one.

Mary, I consider myself lucky that life here is not too much different. I get to go to work which is a blessing as a lot of people are either stood down or working form home. I do miss going to the farm especially as we have just had the whole house re clad and we have not seen it yet. But this will not last forever so am taking it all as an opportunity.
