This sounds interesting Mary. Can you explain more please?

Last September, I started to compile online seasonal recipes that I made and the family liked. This binder would be for those recipes. Fall/Winter would have recipes using cranberries, apples, sauerkraut, beets, cabbage, acorn squash, butternut squash, etc. Spring/Summer would have various types of salads and grilled meats. The current binder I use now has recipes for Thanksgiving and Christmas cookies.

I don't mind having the recipes online for access when I'm not at home. However, I do like to page through cookbooks and the other binder when given a choice.

It's going to be slow going but every little bit counts. :)

What a good idea. I have definite meals that we eat at certain times of the year. I think it is a great idea to have those recipes out in a seasonal binder to make shopping for ingredients and preparing the meals much easier. I might look into this.

From March until September, my dc made dinner every night. I did the shopping. Now that they are back in school, I'm back to the meal planning. Sigh...

I made some minor changes to the way I plan menus and shop. The September and October dinner menu (which is subject to change) was planned at the end of August. That has freed my mind which is so nice. With having a tentative menu, I'm able to look at the grocery sale circular and figure out what necessary items are on sale. It's only been a couple of weeks doing this. I like how it's going so far.

I am back to meal planning too. I have a calendar that I write dinner plans on, I wrote the entire meal EG: meatloaf, potatoes, green beans, fruit and custard, water. If I have a lot of one ingredient I try to use it over a few days.
If I am at the shops and I see something that is cheap or on sale I will buy it and make the amendment on the calendar.
