Things sure aren't slowing down even though we are now starting the fourth week of school. We are in a routine now though and that helps. Things run pretty smoothly and I think the students know what to expect. We are still introducing new curriculum to them (nothing they haven't done in previous grades at this school though) so we're still in that phase. I am feeling more comfortable in the classroom and asking to do more. I am not teaching a lesson a day as I maybe should be by now, but i'm really not sure. I am getting there with math. We are kind of alternating like team teachers.

Mary- How is your setup going? Everybody as happy as they can be given the circumstances?

Jess, yes, everything is going as best as can be expected. :) God bless the teachers. Usually the back to school meetings talk about the curriculum, etc. This year's meeting was virtual with lots of questions related to the current new normal. Then the principal shared with us what the teachers were doing just to get the building ready in the morning. It truly is unbelievable. Talk about team work! Fortunately, a few days prior to the meeting, the teachers sent out their Power Point slides for the parents to view. Within the slides were videos of the teachers talking to us explaining their goals for the year. I feel pretty good about the school's plan at this point.

Dd who is doing online college courses from home is doing ok. She is making the best of the situation. She takes classes in her room and then moves around the house and outdoors to do her homework. Her finals will be the five days leading into Thanksgiving. My other dc will be doing online classes from home after Thanksgiving break as long as positive cases remain low. The "student lounge" that I set up in the basement is being used daily. (Our basement is not finished. The lounge is a tiny area - 7' by 8' maybe.) We brought two chairs from our family room down there and a bean bag. I have throw rugs that we put down. Dd's microwave is on a cart we brought from the office. Dh and I surprised dc with a mini fridge that was delivered yesterday. It has a tiny freezer too. It's right next to the washer and dryer. The lounge isn't pretty but it is functional. :)
