I wish I could start stocking up now but with the move it doesn't make sense.

Other than my ideas, I haven't stocked up on too much yet. I did buy a big bag of flour from Sam's the other day. I put it in a bunch of Tupperware containers to keep it fresh. So, I should be set with that. I received a King Arthur catalog in the mail yesterday. I'm thinking of ordering my decorating sugars from there.

DH came home with all sorts of baking chips and coconut all on his own. I was impressed!

Yes, me too, Ginger. I don't bake a whole lot, but I do like to make candy, especially easy fudge recipes and dipped stuff! So, I need to start getting:

chocolate chips ( I like Hershey's milk chocolate best)
nuts-pecans, peanuts and cashews
white chocolate or almond bark
sugar-brown, white and powdered
evaporated milk
condensed milk
coconut
vanilla-my friend brought me a large bottle from Honduras a long while ago, and I'm just now needing to get more
other extracts

Other things:
cocoa and powdered milk for hot chocolate mix
orange and lemon koolaid, powdered iced tea mix for Christmas tea mix

What else? I'll think about this and add to it later...and hopefully check some stuff off! :snowman:

What a great thread! I'd not thought of making a list like this. I have bough my flour and sugar, but I've not started picking up the chips and such. I guess I should start with making a list of what I want to m :slap: ake.

What a great thread to keep me organized and thinking!

I have/need to stock up on:
flour
powdered sugar
brown sugar
butter
baking chips - several flavors
food coloring
nuts: Pecans, hazelnuts, mixed nuts, walnuts
canned pumpkin
vanilla
karo syrup (corn syrup)

I found some very pretty white sparkling decorators sugar at WalMart the other day, as well as assorted sprinkles.
