So, it's been decided. DD and DSIL will be hosting Thanksgiving and I get Christmas. They've not set the menu, but I will bet I'll be bringing the green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

Looks like we will be hosting a smaller group this year. Just DH's aunt and cousin and maybe my cousin and her BF. Rest of the extended family will be staying home or traveling out of state to visit other family.

I have the meat ordered, decorations out, ordered DD a fall cat shirt but not much else. Will go grab my Thanksgiving notebook. We will pick up the brisket and smoked turkey on Thanksgiving. This saves a lot of prep and cooking for me.

I got my .79 cents a pound turkey at the commissary! I have the sausage for the stuffing and the squash for the squash casserole. Still need to find those little onions for DH!

Well the typical Thanksgiving Family Drama has begun. I sent a text to my side of the family with the date and time details. When you have 40+ people you have to have some kind of organization. The first (immediate, I might add) response was from my nephew’s wife, asking if the time is definite. For some history, we have ALWAYS done lunch on Thanksgiving Day at 1 pm, except for one year when my sister in law asked us to change it to 5 pm then told her family it was at 1 pm so everyone made plans for later with the other side of their families and ended up missing the meal anyway. Holy cow. So my response was “yes, yes it is definite “. Stay tuned for the next dramatic episode because I assure you, there will be one. Hahaha!!

We set our date for Saturday, November 22nd at DS'S house. DD32's in-laws will join us. I'm taking off the 21st so I can cook.
