As I was thinking of things to do after Easter dinner I came across some games to play on Thanksgiving day. When kids don't want to watch football games and the weather here isn't always nice out, we play games. So I wondered if any of you have fun things to do together after the table is cleared off.
Since we host extended family for Thanksgiving dinner the house is filled with cousins and they would always gather to play a board game or a card game before dinner was ready and after dinner.

We used to play Monopoly, spoons, or do puzzles. Oh...and jacks! Does anyone even play jacks anymore?

There are a lot of Minute to Win It games on Pinterest. Our family has played some. They bring out a lot of laughter, and you discover who the competitive ones are.

I have not thought about jacks for years. It was one of my very favourite things to do as a child, and marbles. Thanks for the memory.

I am not sure if you have this game there, this is the Australian version. We play this a lot, we find it fun.

I did find that 5 second rule game on Amazon along with an electronic version that comes with a baton you pass to the next player, sounds fun and fast like my grandchildren like. Thanks

I picked up a set of jacks just a few years ago. Taught some neighbor girls how to play and let them have them. Should get some more. Would love to find an old set since they use to be made stronger. I learned to play in texas in 4th grade. We had it as recess. There were even jack competitions between schools. I was just learning but some of the girls were excellent. Then we played with golf balls Instead of those little rubber balls.

I found this Thanksgiving feud quiz game on Amazon. It's was inexpensive and just card stock cards, easy to slip into my planner. I'll probably add to the game with little prizes, but I think it'll be fun.

Debbie, I find it really enjoyable to come up with these sorts of activities. Let us know what else you decide on.

I am trying to come up with a few different ideas for our Motor racing party for October. Trying to shake things up a little.

I agree Faye, the food is my favourite part of any celebration.
Have you started to think about your menu?

I’ll make pumpkin pie and will order from Burntwood again. Works well for just the 2 of us. Foods great, plenty for leftovers and I don’t have a messy kitchen to clean up.
Sounds like a win all round.
