Well, one of my UFO was a cross-stitch little ornament. I've had it sitting in my craft box of forgot things for some years. I have decided who I will make it for and I am doing it now ... but is it MY EYES or have the holes gotten SMALLER since the last time I did cross-stitch??????

Hmmmm ... I am 44 ... gona be 45 next month! Better trot down to the dollar store for some reading glasses!

LOL!!!!! I can relate to that ALL to well. When cleaning in the craft room, I found alot of the counted cross stitch material and my patterns. Also little finger tip towels that I had gotten after the holidays. (one year or another.)

If possible, go to an eye specialist. Only he/she is able to check which glasses really fit to your visual acuity. I know customized eyeglasses may cost a lot, but therefore they really help and then you will be able to finish your cross-stich ornaments without any problems and headache.

Hee hee!!!!

I also am 44--will be 45 mext month. At my last eye appointment last April, I was told it was time for reading glasses, as I was having difficulty reading with my contacts in or glasses on. When I started cross stitching again in January I brought out the reading glasses and it helped tremendously. (I don't think the holes got smaller, though. :haha: )

Check with your eye doctor to see what strength is good for you...I use a 1.25, but my eyes are pretty bad without correction--you may not need them that strong.

Good luck!

Hey I noticed that too! Yes, they shrunk! Just like the letters on the road signs now a days. The whole world is shrinking. That's why I'm really the same size as I was when I was 20. I really haven't gained weight, it's the world shrinking that just makes me look like I gained all this weight.

Gee, I feel better now that that mystery has been solved!

I'm with you. Went to the Optician last month and had to have my first pair of reading glasses. You don't realize how bad they are until you get them corrected. Everything is all clear and crisp around the edges again. This makes me feel old (lol)

Well, you all are so sweet and helpful and it's good to know that I'm not alone in this 'eye time' in my life. And yes, it's been a while since I've been to the eye doctor ... sooooooooo ....

I'm a tad older (48) and use 1.75 readers. My Ott-Lite helps a lot, too!

Strangely a lot of my vision problem isn't the fabric but the pattern - so I enlarge it on the copier a bit.
