Some people like to start December 1st and do an activity a day until Christmas. Last year I bought a Christmas Treasury (Chicken Soup for Kids)...it was a neat book with a story a night to read aloud.

Other Ideas:

1. Magic Elf Celebration
2. Bake cookies
3. Make an ornament
4. Sleep over under the tree
5. Christmas movie and hot chocolate
6. Drive around looking at lights
7. Caroling
8. Visit a shut-in

Cathymac - I love the idea of the Christmas parade. Here in Vancouver, we are having a Santa Claus parade in mid-November (since we have Thanksgiving in October here in Canada). I am so looking forward to the parade. :sleigh:

Oh I absolutely love these lists. Keep them coming. I know last year my boys had fun with some of the activity printables from familyfun. They had holidaymcoloring pages, crossword puzzles, word searches, etc.... Plus my twins birthday is on the 14th so that is always exciting to add into the festivities!!!!

I always did the posters and wrapped a present for each day for the kids to unwrap. Last yr and this year I haven't did it but love to do it again. My kids are 23 and 20 and the daughters boyfriend is 21 and been around for (will be) 5 yrs. now. They like it and I am a kid at heart with Christmas yet. Girls are easier can do soxs, bath items, etc. guys I did them candy, scratchers. On HGTV --Carol this a.m. they had a guy that did advent calendars with bottle caps (from water and soda) and put little gifts in them and money and you put a paper top on and peel it off to get to the gift. He had little erasers, bracelets, lifesaver wrapped and etc. in them.
