I am getting ready for the next season! Making notes in my notebook and looking at theme ideas for my tree. DGS is getting older so I might do a tree of something he really likes probably video games of course. Will have to collect old broken game controllers or something.

Our Christmas is not over as I am doing NY's Eve, am taking notes though
Lucie, my planner is getting a work out at the moment, so many notes. If I don't write them now I will forget.

OMgoodness! I think that would be such a memory maker. I actually would be laughing in joy that my grandparent would have done something like that for me. Some old game discs hanging from the tree would be fun. Keep us in the loop if you do that idea!
I am going to make a list of decorations that are in each room. My deceased s-i-l had the Christmas decorations labeled in bins according to what was in there and what room it went into. That was so helpful for my b-i-l this year. With all the change happening this year, he wanted the holidays to be as close to normal this year as possible.
One year (several back) we organized all the bins and I put a number on the tote with duck tape and then the next couple years was so so nice. Had a list and like #1 was throws/pillows, #2 kitchen, #3 Santas, etc..... until one year I lost the list and and everything just got dug in and put here and there. Would love to do that again. If you just wanted a particular thing you knew where to find.

This sounds like a very sensible idea.
It seems such a long way to go. I know that the time will go quickly though.
Yes it will my mom always said they’re older. You get the quicker. The time goes by and I believe her this year just flew..
I totally agree Faye. 2025 seemed to be over in a blink.
While Christmas 2025 is still fresh in my mind ( was it really only 9 days ago)? I am writing lists and quizzing my family on their thoughts. Making plans for Christmas 2026 is making me happy.
First full week of the New Year!
This year I am going to fully immerse myself in all the things that make me excited about Christmas. If I want to talk about Christmas I will, even if it means eye rolling from people who just don't get it. I am not going to let people take my joy.

I get the eye rolling all the time! I figure a part of me gets to be a kid year round and the eye rollers are missing out on all the fun.
Yup .. add me into the group of getting eye rolled when I bring up Christmas. I will continue to talk and plan for Christmas year round while they are racing around last minute the week before Christmas.
Today my plan is to finish taking my notes and prepping for 2026
- Figure out WOYear
- Take notes on what worked and what didn't at Christmas and NY's
- Print out the declutter calendar
- Print out my list of all that was decluttered in 2025
- Print my 2026 deep-cleaning list
- Figure out my goals for 2026

I agree. Just the best days. Makes me so happy. The good news is we have so much of the year ahead of us to indulge in our love for Christmas.
