Not sure much will get done here in July, but I'll try!!

Got rid of another pair of costume jewelry earrings this morning. Decided to use up the small soaps we get everywhere that just pile up.

Lucie, we get a lot of small soaps, shampoos etc when we travel. Recently here the shelters were asking for donations of this type of thing. If you have a lot of small soaps etc you might consider donating them to a shelter.

Lucie. It is a win win. You gt it out of the house and the shelter benefits. I need to bag some of mine up too and pass it on.

Luke's school has a box at the main office for these small soaps, shampoo etc. A local charity once asked them to collect and pass them on. Its easy to get rid of them this way and its helping others. I think the charity make up care packs and distribute them to the homeless.

Tanya - that is a really nice thing for the school to do.

I did the one-thing a room declutter but I guess I'm not in the mood... was hard finding things!

Office - an old owner's manual for the Canon camera we USED to have
My bedroom - was the costume earrings from yesterday
Bathroom - toothbrush
LR- nothing
Kitchen - one glass
kitchenette - a small floating candle I will never use
DS's room - an old card
DD's room - a dress I had ordered from China and never worn (too flimsy)
Basement LR - an old manual (english version) for a dvd player.
Basement - an old spice girl cassette
Basement bathroom - expired allergy medication.

Found a cassette from my grandpa where he speaks of when he was younger. I'll have to listen to it to see if it's what I think it is.

As part of my CIJ projects I cleaned and culled items out of my 3 Christmas totes. I will take the things I no longer need to the charity bin.
I will do wrapping paper, gift tags/bows and ribbons next week.

Great job, ladies!

My children are home for summer break so we started last week decluttering the basement. It is used to store everything. It's such an overwhelming task that I started in one area of the basement and will make my way around the room. We decluttered 5 trash bags of toys/games that were not being used.

I'm posting my goals for the next two weeks for accountability. I'd like to tackle the arts and craft area and the school supply area. I also want to sort through our book shelves. We just read today that our church will be collecting gently used books for the 6-14 yr. old range.

Moved out 2 bars of soap. Allen had brought some Ivory and for some reason it was making me itch in places so Ryan and Jamie were here yesterday and I asked if they wanted them.

Just packed up 6 bags of clothes from my closet to take for donation tomorrow. I'm having H load them in the Tahoe now so I take them to Goodwill when I'm running errands.

I have just found out about a charity that supports asylum seekers and refugees. they need household goods, clothing, linen and food.
I think come the Spring (September) this will be my goal. If I have a specific end for the things I am decluttering it may help spur me along.

While picking up in the basement, I decluttered one thing per room:

DD's room - a shirt of mine
DS's room - threw away some papers
Storage area - a winter sweater of mine
Basement LR - an audio cassette
Bathroom - nothing

Went through wardrobe very quickly, got 3 pairs of jeans, a pair of shoes and a few t-shirts out.
Waiting for Spring in September to really get started.

Jaymee took a garbage sack of clothes that were to small for Teigan home to put with her to small clothes. I also sent home some swim diapers for her to put with hers and give to somebody.

Allen took a sack of trash out that has to be burnt.

Unpacked another box that we never got to when we moved in. It was full of extra holiday glasses and mugs so now they are in their proper place.
