That is a lot of events! What a great idea to gather all the events and menus into one place. I don't think I ever did that before. I will be back with our events and menu later in the weekend.

Oh my Minta. You will be worn out until Christmas 2020 with all those events so close together.

This is why I take almost 2 weeks off from work LOL. I am off starting Dec 20th and go back Jan 2nd. I do my 3 day bakingfest Dec 19th to the 22/23rd.

I will have help in the kitchen for sure. We host because we have the biggest house and can comfortably fit everyone.

Will be hosting a brunch for my family either Sat. or Sun. after Thanksgiving -- still trying to pin down the timing, one sister is a nurse and doesn't have her schedule finalized yet.
  • breakfast casserole with ham and cheese
  • oven-baked french toast
  • hash brown casserole (pre-made with frozen hashed browns, cheese, condensed soup, sour cream, etc., topped with corn flake crumb crust)
  • fresh fruit and juices
  • assorted quick breads and muffins

Thinking of doing an afternoon tea with a group of widow-friends --
  • filled croissants, danish, or muffins, cranberry coffee cake
  • quiche bites and/or finger/small sandwiches
  • holiday cookies
  • tea, coffee, juices, maybe mimosas or cranberry cocktails?

Forgot about NYE. Easiest night of the year,
We order Chinese food and just sit and chat, set goals for the new year.
At midnight (if we stay up) we toast with sparkling apple juice and fortune cookies.

Ok, I just added another brunch to the mix.:eek: We've been trying to get to see my dh's parents but with everyone's schedule, including dh's schedule, it's crazy. They are going to stop by here so then everyone can pop in and out and say hi. I decided to do the same menu that I'll be doing on Dec. 22nd. I was going to worry about those details after Thanksgiving weekend but now I need to deal with it in the next few days.

I'm thinking of crustless spinach quiche or another egg dish without bread/pie crust. What other vegetables work well in an egg dish?

French Toast Casserole (freezer recipe)

I have a French Toast Casserole that I was going to use. It calls for preparing the night before and baking in the morning. I'm curious about your freeze ahead method. Could you share it?

All I know at this point is Thanksgiving. I was waiting to see if we were going to celebrate with friends but it doesn't seem like we are since I haven't heard a word from either of them. So, here is our menu:

Chicken- probably baked (No one in my house will really eat turkey and only a couple will eat ham, so I refuse to keep making them for it to go to waste)
Green beans
Mashed potatoes/gravy
Stuffing
Homemade noodles
Rolls
Pies- Chocolate, Pumpkin, Butterscotch

Christmas Breakfast (typically the same)
Sausage Breakfast Casserole
Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
