Here's my plan for this week:

March 29 - April 4

  • Sunday ~ Hamburger patties with caramelized onion
  • Monday ~ BBQ whole chicken; *Green beans with cherry tomatoes YUM!
  • Tuesday ~ Chili from freezer
  • Wednesday ~ Pork chops; salad
  • Thursday ~ *Basalmic glazed carrots; leftover chicken
  • Friday ~ TBD – seafood or leftover ham and bean soup from freezer?
  • Saturday ~ Chicken stir fry with onions, cabbage, other vegies
* New recipe

We're at Friday now and sitting here discussing what we actually want for dinner, since I listed TBD. One thought is Seattle-Style Clam Chowder (broth based), but I'm out of basil which it calls for. I have another spice mix that I think would be good in it.

Ahorsesoul ~ The Steak and Shrimp Vampiro sounds wonderful!

The menu plans look wonderful!

teachermomof2 ~ What is your version of Stromboli? Ours is much like a cheesburger but with pizza sauce. It's on our menu plan this week, too.

Here's my plan, although it's flexible:

April 19-25
  • Sunday ~ Low-Carb Broccoli-Ham Casserole With Eggs*
  • Monday ~ Salmon; salad
  • Tuesday ~ Stromboli
  • Wednesday ~ Leftover Broccoli-Ham Casserole
  • Thursday ~ General Tso’s Chicken; broccoli
  • Friday ~ Ranch Chicken [Tuna] Salad
  • Saturday ~ Chicken
*New recipe

Our Stromboli has salami, ham, sausage, pepperoni and cheese inside, with pizza sauce. Some people add veggies too.

We make stromboli completely different. haha I use french or italian bread and scoop out the bottom bread and then make a meat mixture of hamburger and sausage with green bell pepper, onion, tomato sauce, tomato paste, parmesan cheese, and garlic salt. Once that is cooked, I spoon it into the hollowed out bread that has been lined with mozzarella cheese slices and then top with more mozzarella cheese slices and put the top bread piece on. Then I wrap it in foil and bake it in the oven for about 15 minutes at 375*. DH and DD love it! I eat the end piece but that's about it.

Interesting Jessica! I use pizza dough to make my crust. We'd call what you make stuffed bread. Ha ha. Original here, aren't we?! ;)
