It's very easy... all you need is a jar, a paring knife, vanilla beans (I used madagascar grade a or b) and a bottle of cheap vodka and about 3 to 6 months for it to brew.

I have been making my own vanilla extract for a while now. I have a batch "brewing" now but I think I will pick up more vanilla beans the next time amazon has a good deal on them to get a 2nd batch going.

Local grocery store has spiral hams on sale for 99 cents per pound which is a great price here. I am picking up a couple extra ones so I can smoke one during the hot summer months for sandwiches and one to have for that 1st nice fall chilly Sunday :)

We had Veterans of America come out last week and picked up 10 bags of donations. Threw out 3 bags worth of stuff, gave away a bunch of stuff and I have 2 more bags for donations already.

Some years we host the extended family and other years it's just us (me, DH and our 2 kids & DGS). This year we are leaning more towards it just being us for Easter with a low key dinner. DH and the kids are good at helping in the kitchen.

I am not sure what we are doing this year for Easter, I am getting my gallbladder out the Friday before Good Friday. May place a ham in the smoker and make a tray of baked mac and cheese or I may make a tray of lasagna a head of time and freeze.

I need to work on my list so I can start shopping especially the non-perishable items like foil, plastic wrap and parchment paper. Going buy them in bulk at BJs but going wait until they have coupons available for them. I have enough now to hold me over for a bit.
