    Word of the year 2023

    My word for 2023 is mindful. As our sermon in church this week was about the wise men following the star to Bethlehem, I wondered how many people didn't pay any attention to the bright light and just did their normal routine. I'd like to try and notice more of the things that happen around me...

    February 2022 Rudolph Day

    Happy Rudy Day a day late :) I was taking care of grand kids yesterday, so today I'm able to do some of the activities off the list. I put on the Christmas music, lit my gingerbread candle and made the snowflake craft. It was really fun and I can't wait to do them in December with the kids, I...

    st. pattys day march 17th 2022

    I put out a few decorations mostly in the kitchen and bathroom. I use to do the fun leprechaun trap and mischief tricks with my daycare children so thought my grandchildren would also think it was a fun celebration idea. But, no it wasn't when they started to be afraid at night that the...

    Countdown To Christmas 2022

    I also get sad taking down Christmas decorations, I have so many that remind me of my Mother and MIL and Grandmothers . It's what makes me look forward to next year when I get to bring those memories back again:)

    ~~~ Countdown to Halloween 2021 ~~~
    We had such a nice fall day yesterday I took advantage and put together a Halloween scavenger hunt for my grandsons. They love doing them (I do one at Easter too), but funny how it takes a couple days to make the clues and find the right props that go with them and in no time it's over:)...
    Wrapping party dates 2021
    Have any of you done a Christmas wrapping party at your church for the community. I'm thinking of doing maybe for teachers or nurses, since they are so busy at that time of year doing for others. If any of you have tips on how it worked good or bad, how to be organized, for example in keeping...
    Crafters Challenge January31st-----February 6th, 2021
    Thank you, yes it is from Sarafina, they call it a kit but it's just a bag of all the wool you'll need to make the sleepy mice. The tools, you need to purchase separate. You can make over 10 mice with the amount of wool.
    Crafters Challenge January31st-----February 6th, 2021
    So I was pretty excited to try the felting, this is my first sleepy mouse. I've made a few different sizes and colors and my grandson has decided he likes to have them hidden in the kitchen so he can find them haha. It's a pretty easy craft, but I have stabbed myself a couple of times, ouch...
    st. patricks day 2021
    I do decorate for St. Patrick's Day a little, and we love the corn beef dinner. My grand kids have fun making a trap for the leprechaun who comes the night before and does mischief things around the house. They like to hide gold coins for him and when they come over the next day he always...
    I'm working on cleaning out my extra yarn and crocheting lap blankets for the area nursing homes. I also want to try a new craft of felting. I ordered the supplies and have watched a few You-tube videos that make it look fun to create cute little animals. We'll see how it goes, I'm sure my...
    December 2020 Declutter Club
    I was sitting here thinking of what to put on my to do list for today and you all have inspired me to empty my totes of Christmas things I don't use (save just in case I could use them next year) and offer them to my girls before talking them to goodwill. Thanks for getting me into the...
    Getting in Shape for Christmas 2020
    Glad to read the posts this week since I'm getting back on my better eating program after my DD wedding. I'm really bad at throwing leftover food out, even when I know it's full of sugar and bad carbs. So today I'm determined to clean out the refrigerator and shop for healthier food!:)
    Ugh tooth pain, sorry for that :( Myron's Mom. I started the New Life Promise June 7th and I've had good results with my weight loss. My last post in July, I could pull up the pants I use for measuring, but not snap or zip. Today they are up and snapped/zipped! They still feel snug and I...
    Christmas Eve basket
    I also did a Christmas Eve package while my kids were young. When they all moved away, I thought it would end but the year I stopped, :oops: they let me know it was a tradition and looked forward to opening it. Call me lazy but last year I bought big Christmas boxes at JoAnn's to reuse each...
    2020 House & Holidays Plan
    Great news! I've had such a hard time feeling like fall is even coming, I see all the fall/Halloween things in the stores but I don't know, without a real spring/summer and family not able to come home it just seems like I'm waiting to get kicked in the pants to get my holiday spirit moving :)...
    I usually take down Thanksgiving on Saturday and start decorating Christmas Sunday. I like to start outside before it gets cold, the tree comes next and then room by room till it's done. Oh I'm not going to like it without my girls coming home :(
