It's time to get cooking! http://christmas.organizedhome.com/christmas-countdown/get-cooking-week What's on your list this week?
I like reading through the Christmas Countdown list for reminders on things that may have fallen off my radar. I saw one today after already making a list. To Do This Week: Clean out the refrigerator. Double check recipes for ingredients necessary for Thanksgiving. Done Plan meals for the December concert evenings. Done Assemble Thanksgiving gift bags. Done Wrap presents. Done Make dd's gift. Done
I too have to clean out the fridge. Rearrange freezers and stockpile cupboard. Check location and wash containers to store baking.
My frig freezer is pretty full, so I think I'm set there.. But I do need to clean out my frig and take an inventory of the freezer and the pantry. And I've got a freezer downstairs that needs cleaned out and shut off. I just don't put enough in it anymore to keep it running. I got my first tree up in the family room. I need to decorate it, but I'm not in a hurry. I usually do my decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I'm not hosting this year, so I can sneak in a little Christmas early. I need to decide on my Christmas cards...I didn't get that done last week.
I will start my baking by the end of the month. It will be a bit different this year as I cannot eat a lot that I will be baking (with mum). I will possibly freeze a lot of it so it won't go to waste.
I'm getting through a lot this week. Next week is a big cooking week. I may try to get in some baking or at least get the dry ingredients together for more cookie mixes. After next week, I'll be in baking mode.
Hi all, Preparing some Christmas treats on this snowy New England day: *dates stuffed with chopped walnuts & rolled in sugar *candied pecans *spiced tea sachets *and of course, for the kiddos, rollo pretzels! Happy Day! Gidget-
Well done Lucie. I have gotten most baking done. I still need to make some bark and a peppermint pie. I will also have DH make his fruitcake if he feels up to it.
