Wreaths! such wonderful things can be done with those! wish we could put one outside but with the winter and the winds we have it wouldn't stay up.

A few years ago I decided to forego the traditional front door wreath and try a hanging ornament mobile. I got very large plastic ornaments and hung them at intervals from a garden thingie used to stake peonies. It's actually pretty cool looking and a bit unique.

I have taken an old hula hoop and wrapped an old garland around it added a big red bow and hung it on the house. It was under the eaves and stayed there very well.

The first link didn't take me directly to the Outdoor Christmas Decorating post - your link is correct, don't know why it directs me to another page - anyway, just put Outdoor Christmas in the search box and you'll find it. Love the two sled pins, what great ideas!

Thanks Pamela. I corrected the link. It is of the front door with the wagon.

MissJoDee would love something like that! we have an old sled under the patio that could be repainted and filled with lights and it wouldn't blow away!

It looks like this but with metal slider and now it's white . It would have to be sanded and repainted. white would not look great outside in the snow.

Those ideas are very nice. I have a pair of decorative ice skates that I put greenery in and hang at the back door (which is where we usually enter the house from the garage).

I often use an old pair of white ice skates filled with greenery and a bow on my back kitchen door. A wreath is often too fat to fit between the door and the storm door.

There are several idea on Pinterest using ice skates, also one using a pair of red cowboy boots, so cute!
