I still need to give this some thought too. Mulling over a few things.

How was everyone's Christmas? It is nice to just sit and unwind for a few days.
I need to start getting the house in order and then it all starts again.

Yes, I want to hear how everyone's Christmas was as well!!! Can't believe it's over!!!!

Everything went smoothly for us - it was just the 3 of us at home. DH had to work until 1PM on Christmas Eve - we ate a late lunch and then weren't hungry for dinner LOL

DS and I baked cookies and iced them together - he sang the Christmas Cookies song while he was icing them so I had to catch THAT on video! Then I played some YouTube videos on my phone of various movie clips - like the Hot Chocolate number from Polar Express - DS was DANCING like nobody's business! I was dying! He did all the moves the dancers do in the movie and many of his own - I really wish I had been able to record that!

We put out milk and cookies for Santa of course!

Christmas morning was fun!!! DS loved everything - especially his violin (the #1 thing he asked for) - just had a nice lazy day!!! DS has told me several times that this was "the best Christmas ever!"

Christmas was great! Everyone was happy with their gifts and the day was relaxing. I was going to try to leave my trees up but we came home yesterday to two ornaments destroyed by Tank the dog, so i'm thinking i'll start taking them down now. I'll leave the real tree up for as long as I can though since it really doesn't have many ornaments on it and they are up high.

It's always nice to get the house back in order again, almost feels like a fresh start for the New Year.

We had a great time just the 3 of us. I had bought a expensive bottle of wine for Christmas dinner that was just ok, but we had fun trying it any ways. Everything came off without issues and everyone loved their gifts. Husband and son both said it was a great Christmas.
I’ll leave everything up until the week of Jan 6th unless we start having serious issues with Myron.

Jess, I agree. As much as I like the tree and the decorations I am ready for them to go away and get the New Year started.

Always high praise. I feel very satisfied when I look at all the family sitting in the mess on Christmas morning. A job well done.

Well done MM. With all the work we put into working on Christmas it is nice when it comes off without any issues.

It sounds like a nice Christmas for all. We had a nice Christmas too. My side of the family changed it up this year. I didn't host Christmas Eve and my brother, who has hosted Christmas dinner, went to his in-laws for Christmas dinner. I had everyone over for brunch on Sunday before Christmas. That went nicely for me. It was simpler than appetizers and dinner and dessert. I got to spend time with everyone a lot more longer.

Christmas Eve was strangely calm for us with no party prep. We had some appetizers in the late afternoon. Then dh headed off to church to drum for the 6 pm Mass. My dds were reading and singing at the 8 pm Mass so we headed over at 7 pm and met up with dh. It was the first time we were able to do this type of thing on Christmas Eve. It was so much fun running into our church friends. We got home around 10 pm, had some ice cream and then the kids headed upstairs while we got out the gifts.

Christmas morning was nice and long. We took our time opening up gifts while eating left over appetizers, fruit cake and stollen in the family room. I made up a green bean dish and then we headed over to my parents for Christmas dinner. Two of my brothers were able to stop by while we were there. It was a nice dinner and visit. We cleaned things up and headed home around 9 pm.

I think everyone enjoyed the days. I know I did. :) Our family room is still a mess although looking better than Christmas morning. I will have to gather boxes, tissue paper, and bags today. We have bags of wrapping paper that will have to go out as well as cardboard boxes from the online ordering. Trash and recycling will happen on Monday morning.

Mary, what a wonderful Christmas you have had. It is nice when we can sit and relax and enjoy the family.
We changed things up a little here too and I was happy with what we did. It can still be tweaked and the planner is full of notes and suggestions for next year.

After all the work we put into Christmas it is very satisfying to sit on Christmas morning and say well done.
