Katrina - how cold is your cold?
MissJane - stay safe, seeing all the flooding and the hurricane coming your way.

Went to bed later than usual - they picked up the dog at 10:00. Tonight will stop by the grocery store before picking up the dog.
    Did gym this Morning.
It's raining outside - we needed it! Should be hot and sweltering afterwards .
Called mom yesterday for her bday, I think she's 73.

    Have a great day

    Good morning,

One of our departments was selling breakfast burritos for a fund-raiser so I pre-ordered and went to pick them up where the sign said to go. Hmm, no sign of anyone other than an empty table. I went up to my office, 5th floor, dropped my things, went back downstairs to find several other people waiting at the table so I just decided to stay. About five minutes later, an employee appeared with a tray of burritos only to say that if you pre-ordered, you had to go to the 4th floor to pick them up. So back upstairs and now I'm sitting at my desk with my coffee and my burrito and it was worth it, they are delicious! Glad I picked up an extra for lunch.

CIJ Day Twelve is up - a bit of a vent but sometimes that's the way your thought process goes when your fingers are flying across the keyboard. I thought I summed it up pretty well on my blog so I just copied and pasted it over to the thread.

Yesterday (or the day before that for him) was Vic's 25th Navy anniversary. My goodness, where has the time gone? For the last couple of years, I have celebrated by having an international menu based on the countries he's visited on port visits. The first year was Spain, last year was England, and this year is supposed to be Denmark or Portugal, I'll have to look it up. I have some notes for a menu for both countries so I'll be planning that special dinner for December when he's home. We are definitely in the countdown to retirement. He's thinking about staying until 30 but he could retire at 27 years so we'll see what he wants to do.

Ornament premiere tomorrow followed by lateral file/bookcase delivery and back to sorting. I can't get a charity to pick up my excess furniture until August so I'll just keep stacking up the other items and they can take it all.

Have a great day and I'll check back in at lunchtime.

    Good morning!

It's a gray day, but it isn't supposed to rain. We will see. I'm still blowing my nose. Less, but still irritating nonetheless. My left knee has been swollen and painful. I figured it was arthritis related. John said it was warm to the my guess is bursitis. Treatment is Advil and ice every 2-4 hours, rest and elevation. Always something.

We had a nice time with our niece yesterday, but were exhausted. :p Her mama was surprised that she didn't give me any fits throughout the day and even took a nap! I said Aunt Lisa takes no drama. lol.

M and I are headed out to do some grocery shopping this morning. I want to get home before H leaves for work, so he can help carry the groceries in for me. Then it's the final night of dance camp for M and then we go to my mom's to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday with the family.

Jane...hope you aren't in the path of the incoming storm!
Pamela....I'm planning on attending the Hallmark event tomorrow, but we'll see how life goes. lol
    Hi Lana, Lucie and HW2!

    Have a blessed day!

Good morning MHH peeps. I pray u have a relaxing weekend, as I know I am...
I have our AV meeting (addicts victorious) as my brother has been cleaned for 5 1\2 yrs, since my mothers death. We have a meal for all now 25+ ppl, then their meeting goes, as I take all kids to play while their parents r in meeting.
Saturday is supposed to b our church play day. But I tink I am going to skip this one. Stay home & play... lol lol
As I sit herewith my client, he is napping , m trying to get some things lined out to approach Pastor with for the nursery. I had went to him a few months back to get it going again & I went in to take my new grandbaby in there & couldn't let him sleep as there were big kids. In there playing. So I am very livid over that. As if its' a problem with us members, what is it going to b for a guest..... just am speechless ..

Hello all! Sunny and warm today! We had a good bit of rain last night but nothing like the storms that were elsewhere.

Got most of my yarn and books together for the trip. These two things are what makes up my traveling comfort zone. DH turned on the fridge so I can start loading food. Clothes are mostly ready to go. DH just made reservations for our two nights on the road before we check into the rally

Had a pedicure this morning and after lunch will continue packing.

DawnSu - glad you're looking forward to a relaxing weekend
Jane - stay safe - I think they're saying Morgan City is ground zero
Lucie - you must be enjoying the slightly cooler weather before the hot and sweltering will return
Faye - which museum are you visiting?
Jess - glad Addison's tests are coming out ok. She must have studied;)
Lana - hope the week's last day of work goes quickly
Pamela - congrats to Vic on 25!
Katrina - hope you're staying warm in the Arctic blast
Deb - glad the VA is so efficient

We all took naps yesterday afternoon it seems. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and then came home and Eli wanted to go to bed early. I ended up going to bed early as well. We must have needed it. DH's alarm went off super early this morning, he must not have changed it from yesterday, so I was up earlier than I needed to be. Oh well. I texted my friend on her way to the hospital for her hysterectomy today and gave her a smile. Her kids should be heading over here soon as i'm sure the little one is up by now. They will stay here until the little one's nap time and then the oldest will take her back home to lay down and then they'll come back until dinner time when they'll go to a neighbors house who offered to do dinner. They'll stay there until a guy the husband works with gets there to stay overnight with them. My friend didn't want to ask me to do it and take me away from my family. I told her I absolutely would have done it in a heartbeat, they are like my own kids, but okay.

I'm going to work on the house today since i'll be here all day today, no excuses! I was going to go to the Reactivation ceremony for the Battalion but that will be around lunch time for the little one so i'll stay here. No biggie. Still haven't heard anything about my bloodwork, hoping to hear something today. I want to go pick up some flowers for my friend today and have them in her house for when she gets home tomorrow. I also wanted to make some vegetable soup for her but that will require a trip to the store I think. I might have to do that on Sunday and take it over.

Lucie- It's nice of you guys to watch the dog all the time so it's not alone.
    Hi Lana!
Faye- Enjoy the museum and lunch!
Pamela- Glad the burrito was good! Happy Navy Anniversary to Vic! 25 years is a long time!
Lisa- Kids are always different for other people. My friend is always surprised how her daughter is for me as well. Happy Birthday to your dad.
Dawn- Good luck with the nursery issues.
Debbie- I hope the rest of the loading and preparing go smoothly and swiftly.
    Jane- Stay safe!

    Enjoy your day!

Seems we will not only babysit the dog… dh just called… ddil will be sleeping at our house tonight, I think she's scared of sleeping at their house (ds must be sleeping at a friend's house after the concert I suppose) and with the dog already at our house…. they are at the end of a road and woods all around.

    Had lunch with cw's.

    Afternoon all,

    Warm and muggy here.

    166 days until Christmas.

Doing more cleaning. Used the Little Green Machine on the carpet on my stairs, and I'm amazed by the results. I also used some stain-treating spray, but the carpets looked awful, and while still worn, are back to their original colour.

Turns out the move we were hoping for won't be happening. I was split on it anyways....would like to go there, but hesitant to live here. I mostly like where we are, and I know it will be hard when we eventually have to leave it as it's where we've made all our memories iwth the kids.

I hope your nursery suggestions are successful. There should be an area for infants, away from the older children.

Yes. It's been an issue for months. But now that I have an infant it makes more of an issue to me. I have sooo much expectation for our little ones.for their parents moreso

Home again. Left at 7 this morning. First dropped off a poo sample from puppy. It was getting a little mushy. Then I headed to Mayo to see the sleep apnea specialist. Very nice doctor. He said I really did not look very tired and since I wasn’t falling asleep during day I probably didn’t have much of a problem. Then he looked at my overnight oxygen test. Only one episode that he said could have been a problem with the monitor but if not I wasn’t having anything abnormal going on. I did see this afternoon he made an ENT appointment for me for my tongue. He didn’t say anything about it but I think we were having too much fun talking.

Then he gave me a choice of seeing a Coach to help me lose about 10 pounds. He said exercise isn’t enough even with cutting calories. So I’ll be seeing this coach later in the month. I will have to pay out of pocket for it. He said he needed to lose 30lbs and they helped him. He said by 11 in the mornings he would be starving so bad that he found he was having a problem paying attention to what his patients were saying. Instead of going to eat a muffin his coach suggested he eat a cheese stick at 10am to avoid the monster hungry attack. And it worked.

He suggested I start recording what I eat using an online app. He showed me “Lose It”. You can scan the bar codes, it will learn anything you put in and it already has lots of foods in its memory. Of course he also said portion control. So measure out what you put on you plate to see how close you are to a serving size.

On the way home the vet called to say puppy medication was ready to pick up. Looks like a little infection but no parasites. Will watch her because I know she has eaten some of our mulch.

Puppy ran down the stairs a few minutes ago and tried to get in the room with her kennel. Opened the door and into the kennel she went. Both her and Boots are sleeping now along with a nap for Dh. DD is in her room yawning. I’m starting dinner-pork chops, veggie mix and fried potatoes.

Hello! I sat with my neighbor for several hours this morning. We used to spend time chatting and watching TV together, but not much anymore as her disease progresses. She has lost almost all her memories, and confusion reigns. She usually comes out to see when her husband will be home and then goes back to bed. She didn't even wake up today. I've been getting quite a bit of crocheting done while there.

It was pretty hot walking to the neighbor's house and back. It's a fairly new subdivision with desert landscaping and no trees to speak of. We don't have sidewalks, and there isn't a piece of shade in the road. It's hot hot hot!

Dsil was cleaning the guinea pig cage when I got home. I had a nice snuggle with my favorite piggie.

    Have a nice evening y'all.

My babysitting gig is up I guess. The kids didn't even come over until around 9 or so this morning, I was expecting them much earlier. The girls went upstairs to DD's room and the boys to Eli's room. I was downstairs with the almost 3 year old. She watched cartoons and wanted a snack immediately even though she had just had breakfast not that long ago. She always wants "snacks" at my house. haha She jumped on the trampoline a few times and went upstairs to hang out with the boys and then the girls a few times. More snacks and water, etc. Then she said she was tired at almost 11 so I fed her a sandwich and let big sister know. She wanted to jump again so I took her out and she said she wasn't tired anymore. Big sister took her home after that to put her down for her nap. Apparently they aren't coming back because they were instructed to go to the neighbors house after the nap instead of coming back here. I wasn't aware of that, but whatever. The little one will not be happy because she thinks she's coming back here. The boy is still here playing video games with Eli until sister wakes up and then he'll have to go. I have not heard anything about the surgery so i'm not sure if she didn't go in until later or the husband just didn't think to text me. I always make sure DH texts my family and close friends. To each their own I guess. It's not a long surgery so I would think she would be done by now and in recovery if not in her room resting.

DH went to the Reactivation and is home now. He said it was fine but a few people messed up. He's working on something on his computer. I got a lot done this morning around the house. I cleaned and reorganized the closet in the laundry room, did a load of laundry, steam mopped the downstairs, dusted, wiped counters and the table, organized the paper pile to file, poop scooped, straightened my desk... I still need to go through all the files and reorganize the file cabinet, toss things, make new files, etc.; continue working on the front room and finish it; do the closet; and clean the ceiling fans. DH is working all weekend so I have time to finish my chores.

FS- We have a Little Green Machine, they work pretty well. I need to clean the hose on mine, it's disgusting.
Diedra- Glad the apnea tests were good! I hope the coach works.
Deb- Definitely a hard disease. Sounds very hot!

    Good morning,
Up early for a doctors appointment. She just wanted to check blood pressure and that there were no side effects form the medication that she put me on.
Home now, have wrapped DS birthday gifts for Monday.
Dinner last night was good but the restaurant was very busy and it took about 1 1/2 hours from when we sat until when we got our dinner. Not an issue but by the time we had finished DD was tired after a long day so her and BF left. DH and I stayed for coffee and cake.

Hoping to sit and watch a recorded movie while doing some folding.
    Speak soon.

Lucie, not as cold as your cold for sure. Today with the winds we are at a top of 4 degrees but feels much less because of the very cold winds.
The coldest I can remember is -8.

Hi. Been having computer problems. Had to buy a new charger. Bought another Christmas present.

We have had two pleasant days, but are back to the hotties tomorrow. Blech!

I don't know when I will get an appointment with the dermatologist. But I know him. He is a client at Phil's office. He is from Russia, and kind of hard to understand. But I am used to it. The scab fell off my arm in the shower today. It is still pink, and very 'spongy' like. And it is hard around where the scab fell off. Ain't life grand? Ha ha.

I think I will going to bed soon. I am tired from doing practically nothing today. I need to work in my living room. Some day I will have an organized and clean apartment. Now I have the hiccups. What joy!

    Good nite, friends.
