I got off work early and ran to Dollar General.

I got 3 sets of Nice quality dish towels with 2 washrags for $2.00 each, I got some mason jar inserts with Christmas sayings 8 for 50 cents so got several packs of them, got the little plastic tubs with lids 3 for 50 cents so picked up 3 of them ( I use for lotions or salts), and then I got a jumbo size pencil with Santa on it and comes with a sharpener and will use it for Teigans poster (50 cents). Also picked up my cards I need for January.

Went to the mall, got nails done.
Got a few things to pop away. Some lovely gift boxes, a lovely lined basket that I will fill with goodies for my mum, not sure what yet. A found a light up tree for my mum's Christmas village for 50% off.
A few gift tags and some red and white stripe bags that we will use on the dinner table next year.
All in all a good day.

Lucie, sounds like a good start.
Remembering how quickly 2016 went, I think that anything we do now will be appreciated later on.

Just tidied the gift closet. Each one of my Stocking boxes have at least one thing in them which makes me very happy.
Obviously have a long way to go but makes for a good start.
I just need to cut back on the food type items, we got way too many.

No funds, so no gifts really, BUT I did pick up some paper and bags from Hallmark as well as the 2016 Barbie ornaments for 50% off. Those aren't for next year, but more like 2016 gifts just a day late. ;)

Will do my grocery list today. There are things in the supermarket catalogue that are half price at the moment so will think about putting a few things away for gifts or stocking fillers. Just keep plodding along. I found that 2016 went really quickly and I got a little panicked towards the end so would like to be a bit more on top of things this year.

I did find some cards for 50% as well. Like literally the first ones I've seen that I liked all Christmas, so I picked them up for the swap next year.

I picked up a few things this weekend for 2017. All either 50-75% mark down.

Bath and Body Works (for my Sister) - 3 wick candle - Champagne Toast scent. Was $22.50, on sale for $10
Dicks Sporting Goods (for my Mom) - Philadelphia Eagles scarf - Was $19.99, on sale for $10
Barnes and Noble (for my cousin) - Leather journal with pen set - Was $19.99, on sale for $5.00

I am not really shopping yet, but if I find a great deal, that someone would enjoy, I will pick it up and add to the gift closet.

Just home from the groceries and got a few things. For DD, tanning foam (50% off) and a tanning mitt and exfoliating wipes. This is one gift done.
2 lip glosses 50cents each and a lip pencil for 4.50 (also 50% off), these will go into a gift box with any other "make up" items I find.
Good quality shampoo and conditioner for my stocking 50% off.
Will put them into the gift closet as soon as I have marked it in my planner.

I added to the stash today- well not quite I put it on layby so Luke would not see what I was getting. I got a beach towel for me- (I like the super big ones called beach blankets), summer slippers, flip flops- for me. Merlin and Kelso got new collars- hot pink for her, electric blue for him. A book for Luke and a massage ball as a stocking stuffer for Luke. He gets sore muscles from training and is always asking me to massage his back/ neck and shoulders. After a while my hands hurt so I got this small ball with spikes. He can stand near a wall and roll it up and down himself- sounds weird but apparently it works.

To me it never quite feels like Christmas until I've stashed away something for the next year's Christmas :)

It looks like we are all off to a great start. Just to keep the momentum going throughout the year.
Every bit now will help when we get to December.
