Our home buys a LOT for Christmas! But I do try really, really hard NEVER to pay full price for anything. Unless we absolutely love it or we need it.

So this year when Im planning Christmas Im goingto keep track of exactly what I have saved by buying on sale/ clearance.

So far its not much. But I saved $4.50 on the total cost of cards for next Christmas!

I saved $160.00 on an artificial Christmas tree, $24.00 on 3 boxes of ornaments, and $12.80 on pretty decorative ornament hangers.

Wow Jane- good buying!
I have had no luck with paper, tags etc.... they all seem to be gone... I think the stores here were discounting before Christmas. But I missed most of it.

Tanya, an interesting post. I too spend a lot of time planning, tracking and buying for Christmas. I rarely pay full price for anything unless it is absolutely necessary. I look out for sales all year and will only buy something at a price I am happy to pay. I have never thought of keeping a track of what I spend/save.

So far this year, basket for mum $4.00, battery operated house $14.00, Natio gift sets $7.00, gift tags and gift boxes $6.00 so not too bad so far.
Jane great going on the tree, that is a bargain.

Lucie, great bargains there. Isn't it lovely to start the year with things in the gift closet and at a great price?

Great deals!
I did get some after sun spray for next years stocking/ sacks. Only saved $3 but every saving adds up.

Christmas seems long gone from our stores here.... its Back to School items that are now out... school does not go back for a month....

I saved $41.37 today on some paper goods and gift tags. I'll use the paper goods MLK weekend when we get together with DH's family at the state park on the lake. We usually do it at Christmas, but since it's after, I'm going for a winter theme. Target has some paper goods that had snowflakes, so I picked those up. I was thankful to find them because I was having a hard time deciding what I could use. I like having a theme, even when we go in the summer or other times of the year.

I went after shopping after Christmas and found some things in the Christmas area that I needed for half off: Christmas wrap and a few Christmas bows. There was also Christmas wrapping paper in non-traditional colors that I picked up for year round wrapping. I also picked up surge protectors marketed for the tree but they can be used for any electronic. I saved $13.50!

In the past week we have bought several new packs of C9 lights and icicle lights for outside, new outdoor nativity scene, outdoor light up santa train, wrapping paper and boxes and few gifts .. We saved over $200 as everything was 50 to 75% off.

Today I added more to the gift closet. Shower gels, novels for me to read on the beach, new swim suit for me, body lotion and outdoor cushions to take to the beach (I saw someone with them- looked like a great idea) Overall I saved $41.25.
