Tried to get creative with the title this morning. Spent a very busy Rudolph Day yesterday - post is up on my blog. Can't believe we're on the downside to Christmas now, it's going to be here before we know it. Vic and I went to a meeting of the local woodworking guild last night. I saw on Facebook that they were having a presentation on kitchen cabinets so I thought he would find it interesting. Kitchen Cabinets 101 - what to do and what not to do. It was very informative and the group was very friendly and welcoming. I think I'll surprise Vic by sending off a membership application - even though we're only here for four more months, that's four meetings he can attend, learn some techniques, and have an enjoyable time with fellow woodworkers.
We're off to the uniform thrift shop today to see if we can find anything useful - Vic has to have a whole new set of uniforms for Okinawa so he's is coming home at lunchtime to pick me up and then we'll have lunch at home before he heads back to work. So much for shorter days and taking some time off over the next two weeks - he's still got a lot going on.
Morning to All!
Thundered and lightening around all evening. Chance of storms today.
Nothing really going on---same ole same ole---work then home. We go deer looking basically every night. Teigan loves it and she sees new things at times. We went a different direction and now she likes to be on top the interstate looking down at the cars. People probably think we are going to throw something or worse at them. We stay in the car.
Hope everyone has a GREAT day!
Pam, Vic will probably enjoy that.
Morning! Kitten decided he wanted to play from 3:00 am to 4:am so feeling drowsy this morning. back to the gym for me.
It's my birthday! DH did not forget (contrary to me on HIS birthday), will have to take out my gift bag tonight not sure of all I put in there.
Have a great day
Happy Birthday, Lucie!
I keep forgetting that there's a forum specifically for birthdays - Through The Year ---> Birthday Celebrations. For all of you who had birthdays January 1 - June 25, Happy Belated Birthday! I thought birthdays used to show up in the right-hand column of the main page, near the Members Online Now section but maybe not anymore?
I know there used to be a calendar but I can't seem to find it anymore.
Scored a uniform top for Vic for $3 (new $44) but that was the only item in the shop in his size. Checking out more thrift stores; closest is a couple of hours away so it's going to be a road trip!
GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL.happy birthday lucie
cloudy and not to hot today.
one more day of work and then off till july 7th
enjoy your evening
Hello. I took dgd to gymnastics early. She was excited for her 6 hours at the gym. I have my last load of yesterday's laundry in the dryer - I wanted today's shower before washing the towels. I still have last night's dishes waiting to be washed. They got a good scrub last night, but I was too tired to empty and refill the dishwasher.
Lucie, have a happy birthday.
Lana, glad Tiegan has the opportunity to see the deer. It's exciting.
Pamela, congratulations on finding a uniform top for such a great price.
Time to get off the couch and get busy. I'm feeling a nap in my near future. Have a great day everyone.
Good afternoon from sunny....can you believe it?!....PA! It's windy and sunny....love it lots!
Happy birthday dear Lucie! Hope you are celebrating!
Lana....thank you for the card. You are so thoughtful!
Deb....a nap sounds perfect!
I am feeling better today. Each morning I wake up with less pain, which is a nice way to start the day. I can officially drive today, but am still leery about twisting and such. My belly button area is still tender. We had a busy weekend....it was the in-laws 50th anniversary mass and party, filled with the usual family drama. M had dance Sunday night, we had one Sunday off since the recital, sigh. Now it's back at it until Nationals at the end of July. My mom came up to visit yesterday....and I actually cooked dinner for the family.
I just updated our prescription orders because my healthcare changes on the 1st. I wanted to make sure we have everything we need before the high-deductible plan is in place because the HSA money won't be available for 7-10 days after the 1st. I have to pay part of it anyway, but just don't want to spend my own money if I don't have to do so.
I'm going to work on my planner next. I let it slip by the last week....understandably so. Not much going on this week for me.
That's about it for me. I will make dinner tonight and then maybe we'll go out for ice cream.
Hope you all have a great day!
Our power went out last night around 12:45 a.m. or so. I woke up to a super quiet, pitch black house and it being warm. I kept waiting for Eli to wake up and come in scared but he slept right through it. DH ended up coming downstairs and sleeping on the couch because it was cooler. I stayed in bed, because after the initial shock I cooled down and went back to sleep. The power came back on sometime after 2 a.m.. Sounds like there was a car accident that hit a pole somewhere outside post so all of post was out and down into the west side of the island.
I have a massage scheduled for this morning, the first one in my package. I hope it's good. I need to eat something and then run up and grab a quick bath. I know you're supposed to relax the rest of the day after a massage but I have to make a trip to the Commissary today. I also need to finish up my second presentation and then I may change up my first one. I'll try to get them both recorded today or tomorrow and then submitted. Once those are done it's smooth sailing and quick for this class to be done.
I'm counting down the days until my last day at this job, Saturday. Once that is over and this class is done i'll be able to breathe for a while and have freedom! Can't wait!
Pamela- Glad you were able to find one top for Vic. I'm sure he'll like the cabinet workshop.
Lana- I used to love when we visited my grandparents and went looking for deer. I still remember it.
Lucie- Happy Birthday!
Deb- It's nice that DGD enjoys that much gymnastics. 6 hours is a lot!
Lisa- Sounds like you are officially back at it. Don't overdo, take it as you can.
Enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday to our lovely Lucie.
Wednesday here, I am up and showered and have washing in the machine. A dear friend is coming over mid morning for a coffee.
DrillDance training for me tonight and that is another day done. Cannot believe that June is coming to a close, where is the year going?
Better get going and do a quick pick up of the house before my friend arrives.
Had my appt with pain specialist. There is no surgery that can eliminate my type of pain. None! I almost cried. There is, however, a neuro stimulator that can be inserted in my spine. They will do a 5 day trial. If it goes well, I will have it permanently inserted. Anything to help it. I am so tired of being in pain. That is the short version, but you have the facts.
Guess I will go charge the iPad and find something to eat. Have a good evening.
Pam- I sure hope it helps!
I had my massage this morning and it was good. It was probably the first massage i've had where it didn't hurt the entire time because the person used too hard of pressure. It was a little different than any i've had before but it was okay. She didn't really give me a good foot massage and that was disappointing but I was surprised how good it felt when she did my upper arms, wish she would have hit that area more.
I came home and showered and then did some things around the house. Now i'm getting ready to head out to the Commissary. I made the kids new chore charts so we'll see how that goes. DH is off to try to get the vehicle registrations renewed along with my bike. We'll see how that goes. He has until the end of this week to get it done and apparently my bike expired at the end of May according to the registration he pulled out of his wallet, but we're pretty positive it was June so not sure if that was the temporary registration or what. Guess he'll find out.
Happy Birthday Lucie---Hope you had a GREAT day!
My mom said they told her cousin that it wasn't cancer now. They removed a tumor in his bottom lobe. They have sent it to Mayo and he is to go there. He lives in Texas. Her nephew is still in hospital with no appetite.
Teigan and I made chocolate chip cookies tonight and I will shower and sew.
It stormed off and on all day and raining now. We are finally get it here. No deer looking tonight.
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!
