I've never seen that movie, maybe I need to Watch it.

So I've decided to come in to work - have a few things I want to finish up. will take the long bus ride home. I have to check but I think departure is at 4:10 and arrival at 5:45... yuck!

DS won't be going to his Christmas party at the job tonight, he says he doesn't want to have to explain to everyone what is going on with Xavier.
So if no more desaturation épisodes he gets to go home on Sunday. Otherwise they will send him for a cafeine treatment (never heard of that before) to the specialised hospital and he will be sent home with some caffeine pills and then he will be ok.

I've brought in my knitting but Don't think I'll have time for that… and not sure about it on the bus as it will get dark quickly.

DH will be working until around 10:00 tonight he thinks.

    Have a great day

Good morning, Lucie. Poor baby Xavier. He has been thru the mill already! Sweet little fella. Praying more for him.

I just have the regular to do, today. Still no tree up. Why am I being so lazy? Never in a million years did I ever think I would be like this. Always loved to decorate for Christmas. Sigh.

MJ had a nice b/d dinner. We went to a Mexican restaurant. There are 3 branches to this restaurant here. My beef taco salad just was not as good as it used to be. They do use a lot of meat, I will say that.i love the chips and mild salsa. I could make a meal on those. Btw, Debbie (aka Halimer), I gave her two necklaces that I ordered a while back for her. She loved them both. One was a cross with the infinity symbol in silver, and the other was a rose gold heart with a hand. She put the silver one on right away. She loves cross necklaces!

Guess I should get out of bed, but it is cool in my apartment. Where is my spring? Sigh....

Hope each of you has a great day. Stay safe and be blessed!

    Aloha!

I have to work this morning, a 5 1/2 hour shift. Then I will pick up Eli and wait for DD to get home. Once she changes and is ready we will head out to DH's work for a holiday event. Nothing else on the schedule today. I need to see what time the lab closes and see if I can't run up there and get this bloodwork done and I need to call this afternoon to schedule my MRI's. My schedule should be out for the week of Christmas, curious to see what I will be working. I am going to check the holiday hours when I walk in today and see when we are open if it's listed. Surely we're not open on Christmas, but who knows.

Lucie- I hope Xavier gets to go home soon!
Pam- Glad MJ had a nice dinner and enjoyed her gifts.

    Enjoy your day!

Good morning! My alarm went off at 5:30, but it was difficult to crawl out of bed. Stood in the shower for too long, enjoying the warm water. I am so tired...

I'm sitting with neighbor today. Her dh told me, when he left, that she was in a bad mood but was back in bed. She keeps waking up, convinced that her husband is trying to kill her, so she gets up to look for a gun so she can kill him first. It's being a long morning.

I finally finished Christmas shopping yesterday. As soon as I get all the gift cards in the mail today I can relax. Wish some fresh-baked Christmas cookies would magically appear on the table next to me.

    Have a nice day!

That's quite a bus ride! Do you live that far from where you work or are there just a lot of in-between stops? Can you read on the bus (some people get motion sickness from looking down)?

    Hello there!

Ugh, it's a super slow day at work not helped at all by ongoing connectivity issues with our computers. Either the email is down or we can't access our network drives. I almost wish I had a filing project to do (well, ok, I don't REALLY wish for filing)! ;)

I looked at my MHH Christmas Card Exchange list last night and almost all of the cards are in. It's lovely to see what cards you have all chosen. Cards from family and friends are trickling in but I have a feeling that it's going to be another year of low numbers. I think it's time to bite the bullet and cross some people off my list - they are just done with sending cards and I'm not surprised with the cost of cards and postage. I'll continue to keep it in my Christmas budget because I love to send and receive cards but I will be trimming my list down. Speaking of cards, I just got these adorable ones in the mail - https://riflepaperco.com/letters-to-santa-greeting-card - I'm going to use them in my December Daily album, probably with a few photos of special gifts on the inside.

Waiting to hear from Sophia this afternoon to see about the ferry wait time and approximately what time she will arrive. I'm all packed and ready to go. Will post photos on Facebook when we're back - I just realized that I don't have my Holiday Happenings album up for this year so will work on that too. If we're not friends on Facebook, send me a message and I'll look for you if you can't find me. It's lovely to put faces to names there and see your photos. Make you all seem much closer even though we're all spread out over the continent and across the ocean.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello all! It's been and grey day and now it's raining - going to get heavy later but taper off tomorrow.

DH got his Big Green Egg (grill) delivered this morning so he is happy. I went to the grocery for a few sale items, then DH and I went out for lunch and to order bagels for tomorrow.

Since then I've made chocolate chip cookies, raspberry jam cookies and Jessica's snickerdoodles. Also made the egg salad and DH will make the tuna. Now I'll peel the apples for the applesauce. I have about 2-3 more items to wrap for tomorrow.

    Pamela - enjoy the show
Pam - you picked the perfect gift for MJ!
Jess - hope that the doctor's figure out how to treat your migraines, etc.
Lucie - that is a looooong ride home!
Deb - wish I could send you some cookeies

Over the past few years I have trimmed my card list significantly. I actually send more through the MHH exchange than I do domestically. I find that people are just not sending cards anymore. I too will keep the MHH exchange in the budget as it is something I look forward to every year.

    Good morning all,
DS was up early, he is driving to Sydney today for a visit with friends. I did not go back to sleep but stayed in bed and tidied up my ipad.
DS is making pork mince and mini roasts from the pork pieces that I bought through the week, I am in the mood for cleaning so will spend the day dusting and making the Christmas decor look fresh again. Need to open Christmas cards and display them.
I am keen to start organising things around here, want to check Christmas cards and tags and stock up if I see any thing that I need. After my trip to KMart and Target yesterday I have the feeling that there will be nothing much left after Christmas.

Will get dressed and get the day started

Pamela, by car to get home takes about 40 minutes... just alot of stops. I did read a little but then I was not feeling too good so looked outside. the bus was taking longer than usual but I was lucky... we were only 2 left on the bus and both of us were coming in our town, so we skipped the 20 minute detour by the other town. with the walking and all I got home at 5:45. Feet were freezing in there but blowed hot air in the face. Then the little walk home was freezing. Beautiful cards!! Have fun with Sophia

I'm thinking of cutting down on cards too... it really cost alot this year even though I didn't send that many.

Was a good work day (how often do I say that?!) - it's been much better since I'm back with the girls - we have fun AND I have more work which I can do alone without waiting for everyone.

Latest news of Xavier at 5:00... no more episodes for now so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Just finished supper and watching a Christmas movie. Will go take a bath to warm up, it's cold out there! and tomorrow should be rain o_O

    Have a great evening

    Good day to all!
I had lunch with my cousin today and exchanged gifts. Was supposed to be 3 of us but my other cousin was sick. One of my gifts was a beautiful scrap book. My cousin used photos that I had texted her the last couple of years and family photos. Just beautiful. My husband spent the day watching movies I had bought for Christmas. He showed up in the store ( he was running his own errands) to surprise me. Of course he had to check out any goodies in the cart. Oh well.
Lucie, caffeine is a common drug used here in the NICU.
Debbie, your husband got a egg!!!! How exciting. What size did you get? I loved cooking on one in grilling class.
Pamela, the card is so cute. I’m going to check out that site.
Katrina, I’m the same way the majority of my cards are for MHH too.
Jess, that’s crazy about lab results and your kids. Makes the system kinda of a waste. I wonder who makes up this stuff. It makes it hard to be a parent and how can you be a advocate for your children. Goodness the world today.......
Hope everyone has a blessed and safe weekend.

Lucie, a warm bath is just the thing after a long cold day.
We are gearing up to a week of record high temperatures. I am trying to get most things done today and tomorrow to prepare for a very hot week. It will be a busy week too so not thrilled that it will be so hot.

So Xavier had another episode around 5:00. The doctor will decide what they will do tomorrow. The kids are back home now and to top it off, their cat has been sick for the last 2 days.

DH just called we will go pick up the dog tomorrow and he'll stay here.

    Hello, everyone!

I feel like it's midnight here. I feel as if I have been up forever. It was steady at work, so that was good. I washed most of the laundry tonight...one load of towels left. Will probably do those Sunday night. Balanced the checking accounts and evaluated Christmas budget. Doing better than I usually do...trying to stick to it!

They'll be back home late Monday night, and we'll come back over when we get off work to let the dogs out...supposed to be stormy Monday, so won't put them outside....and to take their car to the airport. Tomorrow, we'll have to drive to the two-hour-away town to get the car from the other airport they switched to, to fly out. The things we do for our children!

Lucie, I had to look up desaturation. Praying he improves and can come home soon. Glad work is going better. DD27 loves Nightmare Before Christmas. I enjoy it myself...a little different, but good.
    Debbie, enjoy the day tomorrow.
Amelia, what a treasure to receive from your cousin!
Katrina, reading your plans makes me excited, too! I hope the heat doesn't get too bad.
Pam, we have one Mexican restaurant, but it's good. I've tried several things and haven't gotten anything bad, yet.
Pamela, I love card giving. I say if you want to give, then do, even if they don't give to you. I certainly understand paring down the list, though.
Jess, I remember the first time I called about my children and them telling me they were old enough I could not longer access their records without their consent...SMH! Put your name on their HiPPA and have them sign it. Then, you can access their records.
GrammaDeb, that's scary about the neighbor and sad at the same time. How did the day go with her?

I'm off to bed. I had way too much caffeine yesterday and couldn't sleep well. Hoping I sleep better tonight. Also, too many sounds that awaken me.

    Night, everyone!

My thoughts on not having access to my children’s medical records is to tell the medical establishment the child I can’t access their records will be paying the bill. lol
