Great job on the cleaning, Katrina! I am going into maintenance mode here too. The outside work is going to take over our lives now that we're getting warmer temperatures.

I planted some old seeds two weeks ago but haven't seen anything green. I'm going to plant seeds take from our vegetables and see if they take. The local garden store is not open and it doesn't seem like they are going to do curbside pick up. I may have to look for plants at Home Depot, if they have any left. Or I may have to order plants online, if any are left. I think it would be good therapy for the family to have to tend a vegetable and herb garden during the summer if we are going to be house bound.

This is one area (plus the plastics cupboard) that I seem to be always having to reorganise.

It's a constant battle! How do you keep your blankets and sheets smelling fresh? I always wash things as they come off the beds or get used, before they get put into the closet. However, when I go to pull something out after it's been in there for a while it smells almost stale and I have to rewash it before it can be used. Any tips or thoughts on what I could do to keep these items smelling fresh?

I found if I do not fold them when they are warm linens seem to smell better longer.

Place dryer sheets among the linens?
I do use scented satchets and my shelves are lined with scented paper that you would normally put in drawers.

I did think about the dryer sheets and I don't usually fold them while warm. I'll give the dryer sheets a try when I reorganize.

I store our seasonal clothes and bed sheets in a those large Rubber Maid Totes. The totes are kept in our basement. I have tried the dryer sheets but they didn't work for me. Last fall, I tried lavender sachets in my tote of clothes and it worked for the first few layers. When I brought up the spring bed sheets last month, I ended up using Febreze Fabric spray on it. I was happy with the way that worked.

I did my grocery shopping and ran errands at Walmart, Target and Home Depot. It was three months since I've been to any of those stores. My how things have changed.

I ended up buying some fresh herbs and seeds for things that I couldn't find. I potted the herbs and will work on the seeds either tonight or tomorrow.

Mary- Unfortunately we don't have the space to store anymore totes. Gotta love military housing! If the dryer sheets don't work then I will look for satchets to maybe hang in there (maybe hanging will help) and see if that helps any. Thanks for the tip on the fabric spray!

On a side note, does anyone have a trick for something to place in a room that will absorb smells? DS's room just smells. Everything in it got cleaned and washed and it still smells like teenage boy. Of course, he does live in there. I'm going to research something that I could just stick in there to absorb smells.

I haven't used any myself but I feel like there is something out there. Let me know if you find something.
