I'm planning on chicken fried steak, either mashed potatoes or leftover stuffing, broccoli and a new cornbread recipe. Then it's leftovers until we leave on Thursday.

Leftovers! Turkey, rice, chilli, and whatever else is in the refrigerator. DS and Family will be leaving in the morning and are eating with friends tonight. I will be sending all the gluten free stuff home with them.

We are doing pork loin, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, applesauce and some frozen Japanese vegetables. I also have crescent rolls that I didn't make for Christmas (DH doesn't eat them).

I have about a 2 1/2 foot pork loin to cut up, probably can get 4 meals out of it, lol.

My mom usually made something with seafood on NYD. You make a cream sauce and add cheese. Then add seafood and fish. Serve over rice. You can broil it if you'd like. I have some lobster if I pick it out of the lobster bodies and I have shrimp. We ate all the fish this week. I'll have to suffer by adding more shrimp. lol

I typically make beans and black-eyed peas on New Years day, that was our tradition growing up for good luck in the New Year. However, no one in my house eats it, just me. I decided this year that it's not worth it when i'm the only one that eats it and it goes to waste. So, i'm making chili for me and DH and the kids can eat chicken patties or something.

Lol, I forgot that I am making green bean casserole for our pork loin dinner. I inadvertently used "healthy" cream of mushroom soup at Thanksgiving and it was less than satisfying. I just saw my casserole dish I use and remembered, lol.

Traditionally (if the weather co-operates) we picnic at the beach on New Years Day. I used to do this with my Mum- now with Luke. We had crusty rolls, cold meats, salads, chips etc.... and leftover shortbread from Christmas.

Man! Everyone had great meals for New Year's Day dinner. I'm ready for dinner now ... but it's only 2:35 pm. Sigh ... ;)
