Another new month---Let's move out some clutter!!!!!
Later yesterday afternoon/evening I cleaned out the linen closet in the main bath. I rolled the towels so have a shelf of Teigans and then main towels, have her shelf of toothpaste, bows, vicks and such and then the other for Ryans.
Then I rolled the towels under my vanity.
In main bath I threw away some old toothbrushes, old oraljel, combs and some boxes from items.
I organized our book basket and magazine basket. I recycled old catalogs and magazines.
Got another pair of sandals in the bag to give to my niece.
I am hoping to start the long awaited Spring cleaning this week..
With the whole family being ill at the moment and being called in to meetings at work etc, I am hoping to get a start on the dining room this week. Fingers crossed.
Living room decluttering for me this week.
Got rid of 4 hair clips, dippity-do and threw away a few things all from my bedside table.
Our daughter wanted a desk for her bedroom and my DH's desk from he was a kid was being stored in the garage. Took it out over the weekend, sanded it down, she repainted it and now its in her room. Refinished a second hand desk we bought for our DS and that is now in his room too. Went through DS room and cleared out toys he no longer plays with or is to old for. Emptied out a couple more boxes from our move 2 years ago and have a bunch of stuff set aside for donation pick up this month.
More items in the box for auction from garage.
I got a lot of books off the bookcase and in a box and bag ready to go out the door. Also, have some household stuff in a box. Sorting through some old magazines now. Would like to donate them to a nursing home if I can find one that would like them. Mostly, Country Living magazine. I let my subscription run out this year.
Finally started Spring cleaning yesterday. For some reason I always start in the dining room and have again this year.
Totally emptied and clean out the fridge, I am always amazed how dirty it gets. Threw out a few vegies and salad ingredients and a few expired condiments.
I never really have a lot in my fridge as I do meal plan and I try to use up most things before it goes to waste.
Tidied the little desk that I use and got rid of a few old pens and pencils and some scrappy paper. Found some notepads that I will take to work for scribble paper.
Went through the buffet and hutch and found that there was not too much in there to be rid of. I just tidied the serviettes and disposable plates and cups and have added to my planner that I have enough of those items for the upcoming summer months.
Just need to mop the floors and we can tick dining room off the to do list for another 6 months or so.
Way to go Katrina. I am sure the cool weather kept you focused.
I found 4 brand new rolls of Christmas ribbon in my cabinet that were given to us years ago. We haven't used them so they are in the give away pile.
I'm sure the Christmas ribbon will make some people happy
DH got rid of 2 OLD shirts and I dropped the bag off to bil's mother who makes rag-rugs with these
Am hoping to get my study Spring cleaned and decluttered this week. If I can't get it done beforehand I will do it on Saturday.
I am in the mood to clean so it will be happening.
DH decluttered his nightstand table yesterday! About time too, he threw a lot out
Teigan took an Aldis bag full of plastic lids to school today and a fourth of gallon bag of soda/beer tabs to school. ( that I pulled off the bags given to us for her to get the money for the cans.) So they are out of the house.
Moving onto the study today. The main focus will be on the desk that we have in there. The drawers seem to be the catch all for junk. The second area that needs working on is the bookcase. This room should not take too long as it is a relatively small room.
More out to the wagon from the house
You are doing great Katrina and Lana. It has to gotta feel good.
