Morning! It's a snowstorm here today after the rains from yesterday.
Friday lunch with Mrs. President was nice, with my cws we had lots of laughs
saturday we left at 7:00 to go to dd's... pouring rain all day. the guys did the moving but mostly boxes and a BIG LR couch and a bbq. she still has boxes to move but will do that herself. they assembled some ikea furniture... that took a long time.. she still has one piece to do (we ran out of time). dh put up curtain rods and got the washer and dryer plugged in as well as other assemblies. He had to go to the store for parts a few times too. sil & bil came with us to help for the moving but bil is not 'manual' so he was not very good with furniture assembly.. just dh for that. she was able to sleep at her new apprtment last night if she wanted, don'tknow if she did but I think so. it was a long day we left at 6:10, got 9:00 (snow storm in some areas with low visibility) and had supper only then. funny but her old appartment was 'functional' but not homey. this is her 1st appartment alone and she is really having it homey and personalized.
was awake at 5:45, been watching news of the storm and reading here. it's like a blizzard out there, mostly because of the winds. snow qantity is not that bad. so it'll be slow snowday here, just getting ordinary chores done.
Have a great day.
The freezing rain started later than originally predicted. It's not too bad out there, but still slick.
I'm spending time in my scrap room today. Both scrapping & organizing. I also watched a YouTube video. (I start some, the people are too chatty, or talk too slow, so I move on to the next & then the next until I find one I can listen to.)
Morning Lucie and All!
Lucie, glad you could help her and made the trip safely.
We never did get snow but had about 3 3/4" of rain. Places just north of us a short distance had over 5 plus ". Windy and cold wind.
Allen took me to work yesterday and we ate dinner at Nashville then ran to Mt. Vernon for a wiper for my car. Got a few groceries. My debit card wouldn't go thru so wrote a check. Got home and looked things over online and no reason that I can see that it wouldn't. Have looked at it 2 or 3 times. Don't know! On way home I called and asked Teigan to come over so we zip down and got her. Was fun playing with her last night.
Not sure what today will bring.
I need to go eat breakfast.
Have a GREAT day everybody!
Good morning, Lucie and those to come.
Greetings from waterlogged Indiana! Over 4 inches of rain. Jay's yard is flooded! It turned colder by this morning. I did not bring a heavy coat. Yesterday was just a sweatshirt, which I desperately need a few more of. I have a lightweight jacket that I wore down here, so hopefully it will suffice.
Never did find my meds last night. Took me forever to get to sleep, and woke up every two hours. Maybe a total of six hours. Ugh. When we get back from Stephen's, I will look again.
Jennifer is having a LOT of intense pain in her right shoulder. She cannot sleep. The dr started with PT, but not helping her at all. I hate to see any of my kids in pain and not be able to do anything. I feel so helpless. I'm the mom, and should be able to fix it, right? Smh Prayers for would be most appreciated.
Had another bad dream. I never used to have bad dreams, well hardly ever. Not even as a child. The only one I remember is when I was being chased by a gorilla. I think I was seven. Weird, huh?
Well, I need to get ready for church. I wish the hot water in the bathroom sink worked faster. It is freezing cold. It would probably be 15-30 minutes before it gets warm. Yuck!
Gonna see my little love today. Oh, yeah: the grandchildren and son and DDIL. But I am so looking forward to seeing Brysen. Hope he likes his presents. Can you tell I love this baby?
Have a great day. I think the rain has mostly stopped. Thank God. I don't have the ark finished yet! Stay safe and be blessed!
Good day everyone. Praying for your safety in this crazy January weather. All we got was a lot of rain then temps fell so it's quite a bit cooler today.
I baked DGD & I some muffins(mix package) this morning. DH won't eat them that's more for us
Pam enjoy your time with your family today. Praying you DD gets relief soon from her shoulder pain.
Lucie enjoy the snow.
Lowlias we like to watch YouTube videos too. But as you said some talk to slow while others talk to fast.
Lana hope you get your card figure out.
Have a good day all..
Popping on briefly as we're in a freezing rain storm and power outages are popping up everywhere. Everything is closed.
Stay safe to anyone in the path of the storm.
Enjoy your Sunday
The wind warning is over for now. It was very windy and warm, but the temps are dropping by the minute. It was 51 at 7:30 and now it's down to 42, real feel 36*. Still warmer than usual. The forest floor is showing some green after these warm, wet days....so confusing for nature. Snow is in the forecast for this week, so they will probably die out. We had a short outage this morning due to the winds. It almost made us late for mass. We made it though.
I made H breakfast while M was at religious ed. Then I did some vac'ing. I am going to patch a pair of J's pants and then start dinner, H goes back to college today, so I'm going to make a big meal for him before he goes. He doesn't want to go back, but once he gets into the routine of the new semester he will be fine. He has an interview this week for an internship in Wisconsin, please say a little prayer that it works out how it should for him.
I'll probably end up taking a nap this afternoon, then it will be time to take M to dance for the evening.
Jane...sounds like the house is coming together slowly, but surely.
Tricia....love me some muffins!
Pam...enjoy your family today.
Lucie...glad dd's new place is coming together for her.
Lana...the same thing happened to us....they had locked our card because it had been hacked. Check with your bank on Monday. We did receive phone calls telling us that it had been compromised.
Have a blessed day!
We have had nothing but rain here as well. I heard thunder this morning. That tree branch is still hanging on near my car. haha I'll try to call the maintenance number today and leave a message. It's not really an emergency but if it hits my car someone's going to pay for it and it's not going to be me. We are under a Flash Flood Watch until this evening.
DH is off to work and i'm relaxing with my coffee, watching the news. We have no plans today as of yet. My friend wants to do something but has no idea what. They are going to church this morning and then we'll see I guess. I need to revise my task (got the revisions from my instructor) and then submit it. I also need to study and take my preassessment so I can take my objective assessment tomorrow and be done with this class. I have some prescriptions that I need to call in and one that I need to request a new refill for via email. DD's Stitch Fix box came yesterday so the things she didn't keep need to be dropped off at UPS, I can do that tomorrow though. I have some holds at the library that I need to pick up, my study guides for the praxis II. I'll go grab those if the library is open today.
I have already swept the downstairs this morning, the upstairs needs swept as well and the trash taken out. I'll do laundry today and wipe down bathrooms, clean toilets. I think i'll make chili and cornbread for dinner.
Lucie- Glad lunch was fun! It's nice to have your 1st apartment that you can make your own. I hope she keeps it that way and enjoys it for a while.
Laura- I tend to skip ahead in YouTube videos until they finally get to the content I want to watch. I don't like the super chatty ones that take too long to get to what i'm actually watching for either.
Lana- Sometimes at Target the machines just act crazy and cards won't go through. Only happens every now and then and we have several tricks we can try to get them to work. Most of the time it works by having the customer key in their number or swipe their card instead of insert if it's a chip. Sorry yours didn't work.
Pam- Hope they can figure out what is causing so much pain for Jennifer.
Tricia- Muffins sound delicious!
FS- Hope you keep power! Stay safe!
Lisa- Sending good thoughts for H! Glad your power outage was short-lived.
Enjoy your day!
Where in Wisconsin? Might have asked before but I forget easy.
Hello all! Yesterday set a heat record at 86* and today might set another one. Awfully warm for January.
As DH and I started to go out yesterday we found that the car did not start - again. So spent the day watching TV and knitting.
Car will go to the shop tomorrow. Got pizza for dinner and made bread so we had French toast for brunch today. I'd like to go for a walk and do some scrapping today. I just located the Thanksgiving pictures that need to go in the album.
I think it's a stir fry for dinner.
Jane - yes, the camper came with white insides so we got red tweed slip covers made for all the seating areas and red and white striped curtains. Looks a lot livier and will show less dirt.
Lucie - how great to DD to have her own homey place
Jess - hope you get all your school work finished quickly
Pam - someone must be having a sweatshirt sale so you can pick up a few and stay warm. Have fun with Brysen!
Lisa - hope H gets his internship
FS - stay safe
Laura - I have little patience for most You Tube videos too - I just want the info - not all the "ums" and "uhs"
Tricia - muffins sound good!
Mel - glad you found someone who can do the electrical work for you
Deb - I'm staying pretty far from the strip - Silver Nugget Casino - and most of my meetings are at the Oasis RV resort
Lana - glad you got to spend some time with Teigan
Diedra - more work on the house today?
I did pack up some old light globes (breaking one, finger did hold on very well) that will get donated. Unless Dh squirrels them away for his yard sale.
Did clean a little in DDs bathroom. She helped which was nice. Also got Dh to fold up the old dog cage. That is now downstairs. Now everyone is napping except me. Very quiet house.
It is very cold here.17F/-8C House is at 73F so I am happy. Light clouds, not too gloomy or windy.
If people were not sleeping I would try to take down the half wall in the game room.
storm near my work last nite so no power didnt work today.i took down all christmas and packed away. put a little valentines day out i dont do a lot. its 70 out now crazy. enjoy your sunday
Allens card worked fine last night so will try mine again. We get tons of calls daily about debit cards. Who knows.
Got a new printer last night but will try again for my old one and then try the new if no luck. Old one is fairly new but will hook up then run and then disconnect and takes me SEVERAL tries to get back on. But no luck this time. Will check all connections and etc..
I got a Santas enchanted mailbox yesterday at Wal-Mart for $2.49. Starting price 24.97. It comes with 4 envelopes but we used some other paper and works fine if smooth. Put it in, shut the door and put the flag up and music plays. Don't open door until music stops and then the mail is gone. Goes underneath. Teigan put a bigger folded piece in there and it raised it up alittle. Which I would of read exactly what it did while there and would of picked up one for the first grade teacher next year. Will see if I go back. Kinda neat and Teigan was amazed it was gone.
I better get productive.
Me too! LOL I was watching some videos on people who did the KonMari de-cluttering. Some were great to watch. Some ... too chatty and I moved on.
Today has been relaxing after yesterday helping friends move. I have had tea and crocheted listening to a local church's Bible teaching series.
Everyone stay safe with all the rain and storms.
I've been doing the same thing learning about the best way to do some things at the new house. Sometimes, I' just like...."on with it already...why do you have to tell me all that!" Those get cut pretty quickly! lol
Lucie - How exciting for DD to be making her new apartment her own space, I am really happy for her.
My house is too warm!! Can't believe I just said that, but it's true. I've reset the thermostat to 3 degrees lower and closed all the heat vents half way. I think it is going to take a while for us to get used to it being warmer in here. K did say she slept great last night, so that makes me happy.
Beef stew is in the crockpot for dinner and I have been doing a lot of laundry - where does it come from?? I am getting the entire house cleaned for the week and still need to make granola.
I got my task revised and submitted. I hope it's okay! I'm watching Riverdale again on Netflix, I think this should be the last episode of this season and then i'll start on a new show. I need to see if there is a study guide in my email for my test and begin looking at it. The library is closed today so i'll have to pick up my books tomorrow. I'm going to get some laundry started and get the chili going. Then i'll clean the toilets...fun times around here.
Still raining here.
Would you share your granola recipe please?
We wanted to go to Hobby Lobby yesterday. It, as well as all the businesses near them didn't have power. Glad you go the day off!
I was up for a while last night. I washed a load of clothes, put it on to wash and put another on to wash. Then, I went back to bed.
We went to Sunday school and church. DDIL is at a conference over night and will be back tomorrow. DS and DGSs came and ate lunch. They've gone home. I'm just relaxing and seeing what all of you are up to. I'm eager to continue packing some things this week and doing a little more painting at the new house.
It's cold here today...only 48° with a light wind. Not sure of feel-like temp. Rain is predicted for almost every day this week. Our yard is a sponge.
Lucie, that's exciting for DD. I love that she seems to want to really settle in and put her touches on it to make it homey. She's lucky to have handy people who can help. I laughed about your comment about BIL. DH isn't too handy, either. He tries and means well, but it's usually better for us to hire someone.
Laura, I hope you get some scrapping done.
FS, I know you and the girls will find something to keep you busy in the inclimate weather.
Lana, it's so frustrating when your card won't go through. I know a lot of younger people who don't even carry a checkbook with them...and a lot of places that don't take them. The mailbox sound "magical."
Pam, did you find your medicine?
Tricia, I take the muffin mixes and add things to enhance them a little. Some I like better than others. Hope you had a good day.
Lisa, my girls always hated when they had been home a while and had to go back to college. Time for H is passing quickly. He'll be through before you know it. What kind of internship is he looking at?
Jess, it sounds like you're already on the move and busy this morning. I hope you do well when you have to take the other part of your Praxis.
Debbie, that's frustrating about the car. I hope it's an easy quick fix like just a battery or something. The colors in the camper sound exciting!
Diedra, sounds like things are continuing to come around the way you want them at the new house.
Jampss, I've watched a few of the KonMari. Anything that helps get better organized...or just better ways of making things take less space...some are interesting...some not.
Mel, stew sounds good. Is it the thermostat that isn't working that making it not register right? Maybe too warm is better than too cold? I suppose you could crack a window?
Later, everyone. Hope you have a good evening.
