Work is starting to be busier (finally!). Spanish at noon, then meet ex-cw who is retired for a small chat and to give her back her usb key which I loaded with ebooks.

So dd's car was declared totaled. She is now without a car - they only give her back 3 k$ on the 14 k$ she has spent in the last 3 years.. the rest goes to the garage as it is a rental - DH was quite upset, he will call insurance but it is what it is. She now has to find another car quickly and since she is back in school cannot afford a new one.

Looked up some games to play at christmas yesterday :)

    Morning!

Heard rain thru the night and should be flurries or chance of them today. Tomorrow cold and then week 56 and 59. Monday snow and Monday night 17!

I need to go sew the lining in a purse and change them out.

I got one section in my room all picked up and looks GREAT! All clothes are put away.

News is just saying that cleaning your house can bring more bacteria. Was just the headline so haven't heard what it is about.

    Everybody have a GREAT day!

    Aloha!

I slept well last night, had weird dreams though. I'm heading to the Sephora sale today with a friend. She mentioned inviting my bestie (who she is also friends with and attached neighbors) but not sure if she did or not. I didn't invite her because I thought it was something we were just doing together and she isn't into makeup and such, plus she has the 3 year old and the store will be crowded with the sale. I told her to invite her if she wanted to, guess i'll find out later. She would stay in the store for 5 minutes, get irritated and then tell us she would wait outside. I plan on spending some time in there looking for what I want.

Tonight I think we are heading down to a bar called The Village, really neat place, to meet the same friend and her husband for a drink (although DH doesn't drink) and then DH and I will grab dinner. They will be more than welcome to join us but not sure if they will. There is an event going on with their hometown brewer from Oregon, that's why we're going. I'm not a big beer person but i'm branching out and trying new things. They may drop their teenage son off at our house beforehand so he can hang out with DD, they are friends and miss each other. I suggested it earlier in the week but haven't heard if they are going to do it or not. I'll ask her this morning.

Lucie- Glad work is picking up. Sorry about DD's car.
Lana- It's exciting to think of snow!

    Enjoy your day!

    Good morning,
Another cool one here, I cannot believe the wind that we have been having.
A little more Spring cleaning for me today, I will do the laundry (room) and then all I have left is the kitchen. That normally takes me 2 days so will try and do that next weekend.
Tonight DD my mum and I are going to the ballet. We try and go every year if we can. We are seeing Cinderella by the Queensland Ballet. Their artistic director is Li Cunxin who wrote the book Mao's Last Dancer. Anyway he is a very famous ballet dancer and I am sure that the show will be magnificent.
I was going to wear a dress and heels but if this weather keeps up I may be wearing trousers and a warm top.
Better get moving, a lot to get through today.

    Much love

    Afternoon!

Very quiet boards today! I ran to Starbucks after dropping Eli off this morning and got two reusable holiday cups, one for me and one for my bestie which meant I had to purchase two holiday drinks. I took one to DH's office and gave it to a guy he works with. I would have driven it up to my friend but she doesn't like the hot drinks and she didn't want me to drive that far. Then I came home and got ready and headed out to the mall. I went back to Starbucks and got another reusable cup and another drink, this time the cup was for Eli. He likes to drink his hot chocolate in them. I also picked myself up a new tumbler that is beautiful! I will use it for my water. It has leaves on it and berries but can easily be used year round. The colors are soft pinks, tans and whites, it's gorgeous. Then we headed to Sephora. I picked up an eyeshadow palette, eyeliner, and a glow setting powder and got a sample of a foundation. If I like it i'll go back tomorrow or this weekend and buy it, the sale runs through the 11th. Stopped in at MAC and picked up some eye primer and then went to Bath & Body Works because their 3 wick candles were $10 off and their hand soaps were $3. I got one of each. I also saw that they have brought back Gingham perfume which used to be my favorite in middle school. My best friend back then used to wear it and let me have a spritz when she would bring it to school. I coveted that perfume but could never afford it. It is definitely going on my Christmas list.

I picked up Eli from school and now we're home. I just put DD's comforter in to wash and fluffed her sheets. I'll fold them so they are ready for her to put back on her bed. I need to put all my receipts from today into the check ledger.

The wind is making the dogs wild, lot of barking going on here.
Sorting through the stockpile which is in the laundry. Lots of baking supplies in there, might do some baking later. Passionfruit slice I think.

Spanish at noon was fun, 3 more new people.
Saw retired cw-Monique for about an hour was quite fun to chat with.
Walked outside while waiting for dh to pick me up - it's getting coldr! had my snow boots on today.

Supper was grille cheese (dh's request for his guitar nights because he is in a hurry and loves grilled cheese sandwiches).
DS called they were without electricity and might have come to sleep (gonna be cold tonight) but it came back after 15 minutes.
DD's 2 patio doors were being changed at her appartment today - she says it was freezing... at least it's done before winter! she will stop paying for heating that goes out the windows.

Yep, I've decided to work on Christmas stuff this weekend,... be it food, decorations or gifts... I need to go shoppin the weekend after so have to have a very detailed list because I will try not to go back after that.

This morning after DD nap we took off for the shoe store (has many different brands and excellent shoe sales people). DD,s shoes were in so she tried them on and was happy. She tried several others on but didn’t like them. Both of us like one pair of clogs so I got them since she didn’t like how they fit. Then Dh had told me to try a pair of Merrells. I got them also. I hardly ever buy shoes, now to hope my feet like them.

Once home I moved around some chairs in the living room and dining room. Then started unpacking more boxes. I did about 5 or 6 big boxes so made a good dent in the Sunroom. Starting to look rather nice.

It is rather nice not to have a puppy under foot and not to be letting him out all day long. I think Boots has gone out four times today.

Next I am organizing the Halloween stuff in the basement. Then a bath and bed.

    Hello, everyone!

Somehow, I failed to put my acid reflux medicine in my medicine strip Sunday. An attack of acid reflux hit me just as I walked into the door at work yesterday morning. As soon as I got home, I took my medicine, but it didn't get rid of it. I took my regular night dose before I went to bed and was asleep by 10:15. At just after midnight, I was back up hurting, so I took an OTC acid reflux medicine. Just before 4, it felt enough better that I could go to sleep. Back up at 6, so I'm beat! I know if I go to bed too early, though, I'll wake up in the wee hour of the morning. I had only liquids for breakfast and lunch. I think I'm going to talk to the doctor about going to a specialist. Nothing should hurt that bad when I don't take a medicine. I think it's time to correct the problem, not treat the symptoms.

I unloaded the dishwasher and heated leftovers for supper. DH, of course, didn't eat them. He made himself something else. That just burns me up when he does that.

I'm glad it's Friday tomorrow. DD22 is coming home tomorrow for her best friend's lingerie shower and bachelorette party Saturday night. DS's football team has a home game tomorrow night. We'll probably go to that, but it's going to be cold and windy! I think my mom wants to go shopping in Monroe Saturday.

Lucie, I don't understand why they shift people around so frequently at work. It seems to me people hardly have time to learn doing what they do before they're moved to another department. Sorry about DD's car. I wish I could say I need only one more weekend to be finished for Christmas preps!
Jess, hope you found some good bargains today. I wish i could wear eye make-up, but can't with the blephiritis.
    Katrina, enjoy the ballet!
Diedra, Merrel is a good shoe brand. I like Baretraps, too. Taking Vanessa shopping means she was in a good mood I hope.
Lana, I know it feels good to make progress in your room. '

Even though I don't want to go to sleep this early, I think I'm going to go ahead and get ready for bed. I'll study on my Sunday school lesson. I always look up more scripture to go with it than is featured in the book.

I hope you all rest well.

Finished the laundry. Cleaned the dryer, the vent was really full, will have to try and do that more frequently. Just trying to decide what is for lunch. I am hungry but nothing interests me. We are going out for Thai food before the Ballet so don't want to eat too much.
I have been trying to watch what I eat. At afternoon tea last week former boss took a photo of us all and I was shocked by how I looked. I am not sure if it was the dress that I was wearing or how I was sitting but I look huge. I really have to try and control my weight.

Need to grab a shower and decide what to wear out, I don't think I will be wearing a dress, just way too windy.

Finally found it. After I organized the Halloween items in the basement I was moving boxes around when I decided to check out an oak desk left from the previous owner. In the drawers were lots of old empty file folders and the original drawings of the house plans. I had been looking everywhere for them. The owner left all the paperwork for the appliances and all the furniture he left. I just figured he would not have tossed the house plans. DD and I spent an hour looking at them. So much fun.

The bedroom I am in has a trap door to the basement. It was in the plans. I think it’s nice the owners planned this for their musical son. I’m sure he enjoyed it. The plans also stated oak baseboards in the rooms but the closets would have pine or mahogany. Closets ended up with pine with a mahogany stain. lol

Dh went to bed early so DD and I are in our bedrooms.

    Hello there!

Busy day at work with not even a moment to stop in to chat. Got off the bus, ran to the grocery store for supplies for Saturday, and then to Starbucks. PIcked up all the cups and trees gift cards and loaded them with the minimum, some are $10 and some are $15. I'll transfer the $$ to my app - Sophia and I each have gift cards on the app that I just keep loading so we are both working on rewards. I picked up the reusable cup, two paper cups to use for December Daily, a mini cup ornament, and a pastry bag that held the gift cards that I can now also use in my December Daily. I think I see a cascade of hexagons made from the designs.

Checked Vic's pay, looks like it's finally where it should be, hurrah, it's only been five months! I'll know for certain when his monthly statement comes out at the end of the month. Gotta love military finance, NOT, so hard to budget when the amount goes up and down and up and down again.

Ordered Christmas VISA gift cards for all the nephews from my bank, no fee and they are mailed right to the house. Each one has their name on it, the younger ones will get a kick out of that.

It's almost 8pm so I guess I'd better get something to eat. See you all tomorrow!
