This time change is kicking me in the rear. Yesterday was non-stop....my special was cancelled, all my behavior problem kiddos were back in class, time change, exhausting.

Hoping my specialist is at work today! Thankful that my schedule is clear tonight. 51 more school days!

Hope you all have a great day!

    Good morning,

Well, that was a surprise last night. We have one of those front doors that has little windows at the top and I went to turn on the outside light and looked up to see what I thought was very heavy rain or something? SNOW. Yes, Winter Storm Skylar hit us too. Not by much since it turned from snow to sleet and is gone from the roads and walkways this morning but snow, in March? Crazy.

Spouses' group board meeting this morning and then errands if the roads are completely clear. Even a little moisture and freezing temperatures make southeastern Virginia a deathtrap for drivers. One fatality this morning already in the commuter traffic. Slow down, people, slow down.

Hope all you northerners are staying warm and staying inside.

    Good Morning!

I worked around my desk alittle last night throwing papers away and filing some for 2018. Not done but looks better. Went to bed after 8.

I think the manager is leaving this afternoon for her cousins showing and not sure if she will be at work tom. or not.

Hoping to cut lunches down to 20 minutes besides the hour so can still leave alittle early on Friday--will see.

Lisa, I hope your specialist is there today.

    Have a GREAT day everybody!

    Morning all!
We're in for a storm today, so they say, but somehow I don't expect it to amount to much.
Winter pretty much skipped us this year. I could count on one hand the amount of snowfalls we had. The kids were disappointed to not have much outdoor playtime.
DD4 has been asking for an overpriced toy for her birthday, and I was lucky enough to find it on sale this morning with weeks to spare. Good thing since I have to get mostly anything like that online.
I've been clearing out all the baby stuff and really making some space in my house. Feels awful parting with it, but it's nice to see the extra space opening up.
After this long, dreary indoor winter I'm feeling like getting prepped for next Christmas. :) (only 287 days you know!)
    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning, all.

I'm off to the Crowville house shortly. I haven't talked to my mom this morning, so I don't know what time my sister and her partner made it in.

One of my former students was killed in a head on collision yesterday afternoon. She was pregnant with twins. They didn't survive, either. I've heard the truck flipped and she drowned because it was submerged in a ditch. The driver of the truck that hit her is the son of one of my other former students.

Pamela, we've had several March snows, and we're in the deep South. I've always told everyone that out coldest weather is late February, early March. Hope you get the errands run.
Lana, I suppose you're feeling better since you're back to work today. Hope you get the early Friday off.
FrostyShimmer, sorry y'all didn't get much winter. Great job on finding DD's gift. What a blessing!
Lisa, hang in there! BTW...those years you have left will be gone before you know it. I remember hitting the 20 year mark and thinking I would never make it, but I (almost) have. I sure wish you could find a better school situation, though.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning. Kiddoes are off to school. DD came home from work early, and she is in bed for a few hours. Back-to-back-to-back doubles are killers. I'm going to change laundry loads and I will be back in bed too.

Last night my glucose meter said 291 at bedtime - I have never been that high - no idea why. I took a shot of insulin and went to bed. An hour later I was awake, drenched in sweat. After I figured out why I was awake and ate 2 granola bars my meter said 65. A glass of juice and a pb&j sandwich, and I was back in bed. I'm pretty tired today - I think I need a new meter.

    Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all! It's 51*! Truly chilly for FL in March.

Got the oil changed yesterday, lunch at Culver's and picked up a corned beef for Saturday. Knitted and read a bit

Just made plans for visiting with friends of ours on Friday - leaving Buffy overnight at day care. Got my Passover stuff in the mail yesterday so I can work on my Passover/scrap cookbook. Atill a few more things to do for the caravan - people's bios are coming in slowly but when they are all in I can post them...

Deb - get a new meter and watch you're numbers! We're thinking of you
Frosty - good to see you posting again
Jane - so sad about the former students - hope you don't find any more problems in the house
Lana - hope you can get off early Friday
Lisa - 51 days! the countdown begins!
Pamela - nice fluffy melting snow is lovely - LI has been hit again!

    Aloha!

I never heard from the teachers yesterday so i've already emailed the counselor back and let him know. I developed a horrible migraine last night. I've determined (guessing) that it's most likely from my workout and my inability to relax my neck/shoulder muscles and it's pulling something causing a migraine (as of late anyway). I've had a migraine almost every day for the past week and that's not typical. I know that i'm not relaxing my neck but I can't figure out how to do it. It just automatically tenses when i'm doing certain exercises. DH says I need to stretch it so I guess i'll have to look up how to do that. I think I need an adjustment but insurance doesn't cover that so I may just need to find a chiropractor and schedule a massage.

Today is the spouses club luncheon and I have no idea if Eli has Scouts tonight, but we'll assume so. I messaged our photographer yesterday and we should have our photos sometime today. I think i'm going to help out the doTerra lady at the luncheon to see how she does things at a booth. She always has a table at the luncheons. I'll have to do my workout this afternoon and will most definitely try some stretching and maybe foam rolling too to prevent a migraine. I've been drinking enough water so I know it's not dehydration.

Lisa- Hope today is better for you!!
Pamela- Hope the roads are clear for you.
Lana- How are you feeling today?
FS- Yay for finding the toy on sale!
Jane- How awful for both of those families.
Deb- Oh my, how scary. Definitely get that meter checked or a new one. That could have been way worse.
Debbie- Sounds like you are getting things done!

    Enjoy your day!

How was the luncheon? Is it Chad's command's group, or the base, or something else? We have our big one on Thursday. The three major bases in the area - one Navy, one Army, and one Air Force - take it in turns to put on the event. Always a great speaker, lovely lunch, shopping from a variety of vendors, raffles and a great opportunity to meet spouses from the other branches. Part of the finale is the Service Songs - all the Army spouses stand and sing theirs, then Air Force, Navy, etc. Last year, there was only one Marine spouse in the room so everyone stood and sang with her - thank goodness the words are printed in the program!

    Good morning,
Wednesday here and it is DH birthday. Dinner tonight will be steak and vegetables and a pepper sauce for the boys.
I am off to DrillDance training so will probably have a jaffle. We will go out tomorrow night as a family and also have cake.
Grocery list for me today and then to start decluttering and tidying the study, finally started my cleaning routine that I was meant to start in January.
Need to make a drs appointment at some time too, just not sure when to fit it in.
    That is about it here....

Jane, so sorry to hear about your former students, so sad,
Jess, is there an oil blend that will help with your migraines?,
Deb, wow! I agree that you may need a new meter,

This is just our base Hui O' Wahine Spouses' Club Luncheon. It was Mardi Gras themed but very small this month. Only about 20 people or so, it's gotten smaller as the year has gone by. The food has gotten worse as well. There are usually only a few vendors present. There's usually a guest speaker of some sort, today was the USO and there is always a charity that we can bring a donation for and usually it coincides with the guest speaker. You would think that the bases would get together and do joint luncheons sometimes being that we are on an island, but we don't. We each have our own clubs, some of them have an officers and an enlisted, but ours is combined. They do door prizes and draw tickets after lunch.

My friend that is moving here called this morning and we both realized that it's only 2 months or so until they get here! We chatted for a while and then her little one hit her head so she had to go. I got ready and headed to the luncheon. Today I sat with the doTerra lady until they started the luncheon to learn a little bit about running a booth. Then I moved to my table. The USO was the guest speaker today and the Manager talked a bit about what our center has to offer here on our base. Then we had lunch and then they drew tickets for the door prizes. I won a door prize today! A Hui glass with some candy in it, a bottle of wine, and a tiny jar of coconut peanut butter made here in the North Shore.

I missed a call from the Vice Principal so I called her back when I got to my car. I explained what was going on and she assured me that she would call both teachers and talk to them and we formulated a plan for tomorrow for DS. He will stay after school and visit both teachers to make up his work. She called me back after talking to both teachers to let me know that the plan was a definite go and they were both aware of it. I wrote DS a list for both teachers so he was aware of what he SHOULD be doing in both classes and told him that if they tried to skip anything to let them know and if they still gave him hassle then to call me and I would call the V.P. immediately. Everything has to be done and turned in by Thursday. As long as he gets all of this done then his grades should come back up and he should be okay. We'll see though.

Got a text that Eli does not have Scouts tonight. DH is glad about that. I feel like such a dummy earlier. I went to make dinner last night and couldn't find an onion, although I knew there was one sitting on the counter before. I stopped what I was doing and we had whatever for dinner since there was no onion. DH asked me at lunch what I needed for dinner so I could make it tonight and I told him an onion and he said, "Like this one right here?" He moved a bottle aside and there was the onion. I felt like such a man. haha

Katrina- Happy Birthday to your DH! I have one that is supposed to but I always forget to use it. I keep it in my purse so maybe that's why I always forget about it. I need to see if there's any other that may help. The smell is sometimes too much for me with the rollerball I have. It's a black licorice smell.
HW2- Chocolate chip cookies sound delicious!

    Good evening!

We are currently having snow squalls here. It goes from white out to clear in a manner of 15 minutes and back again. Crazy weather. It's cold...only 25* here now. It's seems more like February than March, weather-wise.

Today was tiring. I had extra kids today, but did have a special. It's just so non-stop. Then there was a walk through to top it all off. It wasn't my best teaching ever, but quite the reality of my days with these kiddos and extra kiddos. I told the vp that I was sorry it sucked....lol....she said it really didn't. We'll see what she types into my evaluation file. Sigh. We have a contract proposal after almost 2 years. It's not good, but will probably pass. It's very disheartening that most of us will see less than 1% raise each year for the next 3 years, and have an increase in paying for healthcare.

Just input my data and got my clothes ready for tomorrow so I can sit down and watch This Is Us tonight, stress free.

Jane...that's so sad about your former student. Heartbreaking.
Jessica...hope your headache is feeling better soon.
    Katrina....happy birthday to your dh!
Deb....wow! You should look into a new meter for sure!
Waving hi to you all....Debbie, FS, Pamela, and anyone I missed!

sending love and warm wishes to you from snowy western PA!

Jess, years ago I tried Chinese herbs for an ailment and the smell was so strong it made me nauseous so it was no use trying. I think a licorice smell would give me a headache lol.
Warming up here, I have my housework music on and am doing a great job on the study, should have it done today. Still need to go to the shops and get ingredients for dinner. Might get Subway for lunch while I am out.

I got a call from DS's English teacher on my way out the door. He was very apologetic that he didn't contact me yesterday. He's a nice guy, just very forgetful about everything. I sometimes wonder if he has something wrong in his brain...really. I've met him once when I requested a conference with him back in November. Anyway, he assured me that when DS comes in tomorrow he will give him what he needs and he has until noon on Thursday to complete it but if he needs more time then he can extend it. He was very accommodating. He also tried to tell me that DS still needed to do the final assessment which is an argumentative essay on To Kill A Mockingbird, which I thought was odd since DS was in school yesterday when the assessment was done. I called DS after I got off the phone with the teacher and asked him and he said that yes, he did the final assessment. So, I told him he'll need to mention that tomorrow when he goes to see this teacher. I swear! This, this is why things are so screwed up at the end of the quarter.

Stopping in to say goodnight. Long day and am very tired. I'm having some tests run tomorrow around 10, so nothing to eat or drink until afterwards.

    Rest well, everyone.
