OK I have to admit with cost of everything I am debating this due to tight budget. I am looking at my list to see if I could cut anyone and maybe even hand deliver some because I know these cards would be appreciated and displayed- hmmm I will look into it more it is a great idea.

Yay! Im getting excited! The list is getting longer! I just LOVE getting christmas cards in the mail!! I dont get many because my family is too lazy to send them lol..I just get a few from my close friends..now I will get a bunch from my DEAREST CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!!! I cant wait!!

I agree that sometimes the cost can be a real factor and has to realistically considered, but for me this is my Christmas "splurge" (gift) to myself. I too find that each year I get less and less cards from family & friends. Exchanging with OC the last 2 years has been so wonderful, it really is the finishing touch on my Christmas! I display them all in the foyer, so everytime I come in the house it brings a smile, for my visitors too. (It has even inspired some of them to start exchanging again)

just see it as an advent calendar for yourself... for 6 weeks you´ll get a lovely surprise everyday in you mailbox..

I SO LOVE it...
I always prepare a nice cup of tea or hot cocoa and some cookies and sit on the sofa to read them.. I don´t open them in the hall in a rush.. and after cristmas they come into a special box.. I won´t throw them away...

Yes, the expense is always an issue here, too, especially these days. But, we don't send cards normally, so I think this would be a great way to start. We used to, then it got to be too much trouble and expense so close to the holidays, so I quit...but now that I"m ORGANIZED! I can budget for the stamps. I already have the cards!

I do hand out cards, usually with a gift but sometimes alone. I sometimes use a Christmas card like you would a birthday card, tucked into the ribbon of the gift. It's fun and unexpected, and everyone seems to appreciate it!
