Hola,

We have planned a family Cinco de Mayo gathering.

The children and I made tissue paper flowers in vibrant colours - orange, pink , and yellow. We also made a pinyata that we filled with bags of munch-mix that we also made. We had great fun reading a few books about Mexican history and Cinco de May celebrations, and made a trip to the grocery store to pick out ingred. for our feast. We made the following:

*guacamole & green pepper strips
*salsa & chips
*taco salad
*taco cups
*fruit punch for the children, and sangria for the grown-ups

This has been a fun way to expose the children to other cultures, histories, and ideas.
