:welcome: To 2014 crafting year!!!!

It seems we are all excited to craft for this year. Glad to see a few new posters and also that people are going to try a new craft.

Hoping to see pictures of everybodys items when made. Can post them on MHH thru the picture album or if you have a blog.

This week I will work on burp rags, and bibs for Nugget. Would like to try a little dress out of a onesie and some material for her at some point too.

This is some of the items that I have on my list so far: (some carried over from last year)

1.) Jaymee a new stocking from wine theme material

2.) Barbie clothes for a few of the girls we buy for (should go ahead and do one for Nugget and have a supply for her ready so when she gets to that age--might take me that long!)

3.) Will need to do a blanket for a great niece and great nephew---maybe or wait till they are older

4.) Find the CIJ ornament for the swap here on MHH

5.) Find the item to do for the 12 Days of Christmas swap

6.) Will be making Nugget stuff thru out the year.

7.) Make the crocheted scarfs and have a stock of them in different colors

8.) Make Christmas gifts for 2014. Decide what.

9.) Grow luffas (if a good gardening year) and make items (lotions, scrubs etc. for gifts)

10.) Jaymee an apron from wine theme material

I know more will come along but this is what I am planning now.

What is on your list?!?!?!?!?

Lana, thanks for starting us off on another year! I will be interested to see how growing loofas go. What do you plant to get them?

The time between Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas is a blur. I had a very successful year with my items. The most popular was a monogrammed chevron infinity scarf. I ran out of fabric, the supplier that I normally order from was out of stock and I had to scrounge ebay and etsy to find more. It wasn't the same, but it worked.

We were out of town from Dec 20 until New Years, so I am just getting back into my craft room. It's a mess! I've spent the morning trying to re-organize, but I'm really not in the mood yet.

I did start knitting a new hat. I'm pondering making a few of these hats during the year to give to the nieces for Christmas, I need to see the finished one first. Hopefully I will be finished in the next few days. There is another pattern for a hat that I would like to try next.

Jodee, you have quite a list going. Hmmm......Maybe I should start on baby doll clothes too since it takes me so long to do anything!!!!!

Carol, I am also interested in seeing what you will be doing this year. You come up with so many cute items to see in the shop! I have been thinking of maybe just getting the Spirit Babylock machine that just embroiders since I have a good machine that sews. But that yet will have to wait till I pay a few things off. I WANT to do the lace ornaments. So many pretty ones. The luffas you buy seed--called luffa--you let them dry and then take shell off shake seeds off and then you cut in the sponge size you want. Some people wash them in a bleach solution to whiten them. It was several yrs. ago that we did then. You can eat those things when little too. Never did that.

Yesterday I sat down to make a fleece blanket or two while watching the Syracuse/Miami basketball game and ended up making 5 fleece blankets. Kids did not get new ones for Christmas this year and were all mad about it so they are all getting them for their birthday's this year. My 2 nieces and Makayla were the worst because they didn't get their new blankets.

This week need to get the fleece scarves done for Maranda and 4 of her suitemates in their school colors.

Also want to finish up making the ruffle scarves that I have the yarn for. Between Me Maranda and Makayla they are ours and wouldn't doubt if my niece Kali don't end up with some of them too

Need to figure out how to make the ribbon scarves my mother bought the yarn for because my SIL wanted one and my mom thought I would like it too.

Finish up snowman ornaments that I started awhile ago.

Ok think that will be in for this week

Jampss, that is quite a list. Several pretty items on there too! Hope to see pictures.

Kim, that is a lot. I love to work on something when watching something long. Good way to make use of the time and get stuff done! The ribbon scarfs are very pretty. So many different yarns to do that stuff with.

Fluttering happily in the clouds!!
This week, I need to concentrate first on mending:

Sew button back on my black coat
Sew button back on my navy coat
Sew up ankle zip on DD's black tracksuit bottoms
(Consider HOW I could sew up the crotch of DD's other black tracksuit bottoms - fully lined so no easy access)

Then, on to UFOs:
Knit some more on lap blanket
Sew a bit more on Cross-stitch holly leaves
Rip back rib on DD's sleeveless jumper, and start again in the size she now is

I'd like to do some burp cloths to add to a package for co-worker's new baby, but I should have the package wrapped in work for when she comes to visit, so if I don't get that done this week, it will have to wait for the next new baby.

Crafts!

My list is like my "wish list" of what I would like to get done ...
:snowman2:
Last year, I started out big ... but didn't end up doing to many things. I did this Minion Scarf at the last minute for DNiece20 that was a hit!

And now, DD21 has me making crochet flowers for her My Little Pony cosplay costume for an upcoming Swamp Con (convention for folks dressing up in cartoon characters outfits!) LOL

Ah! I figured it out, I was doing it wrong. I was going up to the top of the screen under "Community" and clicking on "photos". But now I just clicked on jampss' name (as she suggested) in her post above and then clicked on "view public profile" and then the picture was on the right side.

Love your scarf!

(jampss - thank you for the instructions! I didn't see your second post until I after I had fumbled around and found it.)

Jumpss my nephew would love that scarf. Thanks for reminding me I have to ask Randa what I have to make for her Cos-play costume for this spring. I don't even remember what she told me she was doing.

Tonight I will work on scarves the SU/Virginia Tech game doesn't start till 9 so it could turn out to be a long night depending.

Nice job on the scarf. My ddil made minon hats, about 14 of them. She makes and sells hats. She did about 65 hats between mid-October and Christmas. It is a small business she has online site if you want to see her work. My granddaughters are her models. https://www.facebook.com/cutencozycustomcrochet?ref=hl
