January review 2024.

It was a good month. The post Christmas blues that I usually suffer from were much less this year which I was grateful for. Made the month a lot more enjoyable for me. Mum and I had a planning day early January and discussed plans for the year, some fun things on the to do list.
Set some goals and kept myself busy. The weather here was very mild so that also made things easier. Got a lot of decluttering done. This started just before NYE when I did declutter the Christmas items before storing them away. I then went through 4 rooms with the goal of donating whatever I don't want or need, the goal is to get 100 items out of our house this year. I think I have passed that goal just in January. Will continue with this in February and get even more out of the house.

Also wanted to get a great head start on Christmas gifts and stocking fillers. If we move to the farm mid year I know that the shopping opportunities will be less. I have at least one gift and stocking filler for everyone on my list, a good start. Even better though is I have an idea of what I may potentially buy for people so that helps.

January goals:
*Target savings in bank (X) Need to focus on this, there are a lot of expenses at the beginning of the year.
*Choose 10 goals/areas of improvement for 2024 (X)
*Mini room maintenance January Loungeroom (X), Kitchen (X), Bedroom (X) and Bathrooms (X)
*Lunch with friends January 24th ( )Postponed until February 16th
*Australia Day celebrations January 26th (X) have started planning a bbq at our house
*DD, DSIL and my birthdays are in January. Celebrate (X) Dinner on Tuesday night ( )
*January in review (X)
*Set February goals (X)

February goals:
*Keep saving towards car insurance and balance of cruise ( )Rebuild the savings account ( )
*Increase Christmas club amount (X)
*Judges workshop, Melbourne February 2nd-4th. ( )
*3 DrillDance competitions ( )( )( )
*Finish at least 1 craft ( )
*Lunch with friends February 16th ( )
*DH and my wedding anniversary 22nd February, celebrate ( )
*Daytrip to Mittagong 29th February ( )
*Prepare for modified HGP/Autumn ( )

Katrina, I was just talking to dh about it being a month ago when we were visiting family. How the time flies!

You are off to a great start! My post Christmas blues were at a minimum. We extended the celebrating through the first week of January. I still have Christmas greenery and the nativity set up but I'm feeling ready to take them down either during the week or next weekend.

Daily:
  • Exercise
  • Prayer
  • Calendar Review of Appointments/Meetings
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Prep coffee for the next day.
  • Prep lunch for the next day.
  • Prep breakfast for the next day.
Weekly:
  • Plan outfits for this week.
  • Plan the menu for this week.
  • Prep meals for this week.
  • Dust/Vacuum/Mop.
  • Pay Bills.
  • Do Laundry.
  • Buy Groceries.
  • Read a book this week. [5 of 5 weeks to complete]
  • Answer one autobiographical question this week.
  • Work on one incomplete craft project.
  • Write an “End of Last Week” Reflection.
Monthly: Kitchen
  • Dust the top of the fan.
  • Clean the oven, microwave, and refrigerator .
  • Wipe down cabinets and appliances.
  • Wash the floor.
  • Clean the windows.
  • Wipe down the wall, door jambs, trash can.
  • Declutter for 15 minutes.
  • Work on “Spruce Up” list.
New Habit: Research 15 minutes daily or the equivalent of that in a week until February 10th.

Glad that the blues were kept at bay.
I said to DH Christmas is like having your favourite person visit. You look forward to them coming and enjoy them so much when they are here. Then the go home and you are sad because you miss them so much. That is the best way that I can describe it.

I am glad to be following your lead. I recently got a new address book and would like to update addresses plus add passwords to the book.
I am glad that you are thinking about gifts for yourself too

Julianne, is the Bible recap the chronological read that many people seem to be doing this year?

I've been reading through the entire Bible and just finished Acts. I hate to abandon it to join the chronological read, but it seems very popular this year.

@missjane :) You can keep reading your way/plan and just listen to the short recap on those passages. On a PC, you can go to this link and do a search for the book/chapter. What will come up is not only the English video, but you will probably get the ASL (sign language) and the Spanish ones, too.
