Made this tonight. Was excellent. I used a Betty Crocker Gluten free yellow cake mix. I decreased the butter to half a cup since the gf mix only makes a one layer cake and most normal cake mixes make two layers. I also found I was out of pecans but had almonds. Love this recipe.

Looks super yummy, but i'm not feeling like it's fall yet with it being in the high 80's and 90's still. Kind of hard to fake it, when it's that hot. Seriously..it's September and we're still having July and August weather her in Colorado. I'll say it again...move me to Alaska...LOL

That being said, I so want to try that recipe.

I took this in for a meeting today. I made 8 copies of the recipe, wasn't enough. People were making more copies, including the men. lol

It is. I don't know what it would be like with a real flour cake mix but with the gluten free one it rocks. The gluten free cake mixes only make a one layer cake so I'd think with a real cake mix it would be more cakey.
