We don't have school today but yesterday we had a wonderful Veterans Day assembly and the kids were awesome.

It brought tears to my eyes...

Thank you to all the veterans who gave and give so much for our freedom here in the USA.

Here in Canada we call it Remembrance Day. Yesterday we had an assembly at my kids' school as well and had a hard time keeping the tears in check. Thanks to all our Canadians who have served our country. I was born in a military family and have many family and friends who are in the military.
To our bretheren in the US who have Veterans Day and in the UK who have Armistice Day...I thank you.

Back from the Cenotaph now. I cry every year.
I married a soldier (retired now).

In Flanders fields the poppies grow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly

At work one of the bailiffs collected pictures of employees who were or are currently in the military and made nice collage. We had to guess who was who. A cheat sheet was available after trying to guess. I didn't know so many of the ladies at our courthouse were in the service. Way cool!
