Looks delicious! One of these days I'll have to try a green bean casserole and sweet potatoes... those are not things I have ever tasted.

I reviewed my Thanksgiving shopping list. I've been doing well by picking up a few things each week that I will need for the holidays. I still need to pick up a turkey and chicken for the turducken. Fresh items will have to wait.

I love that blog post, what a beautiful Thanksgiving!

As we have had ours earlier this month (Canada) - things went fairly well (... not the pies but I am beyond hope it seems when it comes to pastry!)

Seems like too LONG of a time before I need to cook a 'big' meal again.
Will give me some time to try new dishes, or beat myself with the rolling pin if I try pie crust again lol

The thanksgiving timetable from allrecipe could easily be applied to Christmas. I see they cut the veggies the day before.... hmmmm... never thought of that.

turkey in a cooking bag

Today when I was grocery shopping, I saw that Butterball is selling turkey in a bag you can put in the oven and bake it. I didn't read the directions, just saw it on the label. Has anyone seen them?

Love the idea of making the gravy ahead of time! Do you think it'll still have the same consistancy?

They used to be made by Durkee's, but I think French's bought them out. I have several recipes that call for them. They come in a resealable container and are really crunchy onions that have been fried.
Here is a link to their website:

Maybe you can order them??? I didn't look to see.

I do miss the French's Fried Onions. So are there isn't a good gluten free substitute.

I think mom wants me to make a fruit salad. It's the kind w/ caned oranges, pineapples, and a dressing of sour cream and cool whip or something. I can't remember. LOL she will send me the recipe, it's good.
