Pamelajane,
Here is some things I have for my 24 Days of Christmas:
Tree lighting ceremony
Visit a Living Nativity
Candlelight Christmas Walk in Augusta, MO (about 45 min. from me)
Drive through a Christmas light display
Have a family Christmas movie night with popcorn and hot chocolate
Slumber party under the Christmas tree
Host a Christmas party or exchange (cookie? ornament?)
Wrapping Night
Caroling
Baking Night
Decorate the tree (I always make this for Dec. 1 and do the real tree. My fake trees have usually been up since Nov. 1 LOL)
Anyways, that is what I have right now. I don't have the whole month and a lot I don't have on the calendar for a specific date yet. I have to kind of see what other bigger activities I'll be adding that have scheduled dates and times KWIM?
A good way to find activities like the Candlelight walk is to google search your city and christmas events 2008. I found a lot of small town events like tree lighting ceremonies, parades and the candlelight walk. And it doesn't have to all be big things! I try to limit big things to 1-2 times per week. The point of planning ahead is to be able to enjoy it. If every day you feel like there is a checklist - you never get to relax. So enjoy the simple things like movies and sleeping under the tree.
Anyways, there's a start of ideas for you.
