Southern Living magazine is celebrating CIJ. There is also a cake contest to be selected to be the feature on their December issue. They give some basic cake recipes, and you have to add your flair. Check out the website at www.southernliving.com.

I got their hard back Christmas book in the mail last week and I didn't order it. A few good recipes that I think I will copy and send back.
I got their hardbound out of the library last week and copied a few recipes too. I also like the idea for the paper trees - made out of old Southern Livings

In addition to the recipes.... I found a section of 50 gifts under $50. (None were do-it-yourself...... but a lot of the (pricey) things... you COULD do yourself! I also found a GREAT article on how they prepare for Christmas at the gigantic Biltmore Estate. (Hint.... they start planning in January. They have 500 boxes of decorations!)
