Cool idea!
Safety tip: Instead of electrical tape, use reflective clothing tape designed for outdoor sports and jogging enthusiasts. Lay the highway on the back of the costume as well with an intersection across the shoulders. This will greatly improve visibility. May as well stripe the outer sleeves while you're at it. Make the head sign relective too.
Of course if your child will not be outside trick-or-treating, electrical tape is probably cheaper.

This is an adorable costume - and GREAT tip on using reflective tape! We have few street lights here and I'm always shocked at how many kids are 1. out alone and 2. don't have lights or similar with them to not only see where they're going, but to make them more visible to cars!
