Does anybody do cross stitch? How do you frame the finished piece? Do you use a plastic frame with no glass/plastic or a regular picture frame and then use a mat?

I am making cross stitch pictures for gifts this year and need to figure out the best way to frame them.

Thanks!!

We always take ours to Hobby Lobby to be framed.

I've done it both ways also and prefer behind glass to keep off dust, dirt, etc. I usually take mine to Hobby Lobby or Michaels and have always been happy.

I'm lucky enough that DH can do mine. I usually do quite simple, country stuff so it looks better to me without glass. If I did something more involved and formal I'd opt for glass. Some look really nice with stuffing behind the project when mounted.

Ooooh, never thought about stuffing it! It will give it more depth if I put it behind glass. Thanks for all the input y'all! I think will will have them framed with glass so they stay nice and clean...lol
