My focus will be more on keeping the clutter from building back up, I need these steps as reminders what to keep an eye on.

I know I'm not following the days exactly but I figure as long as it gets done this week...I am still on target. Tonight I worked on spices. I noticed before Christmas how messy my spice cabinet was. I had some little tiered spice shelves but they didn't seem to help. I was constantly digging and knocking things about. So today I was thinking of getting some little baskets to put them in and then I could just pull the basket out and get spices and then slip it back...Well then tonight I was like....I could just use these wooden boxes I have...I love the look and feel of old wooden boxes so I have several....I used these two for spices...I'd like to find one more about the same size/shape for the top shelf and use it for all those little bottles of cookies, cake, and cupcake decorating stuff....

Nice spice boxes Ginger! I put mine in small plastic trays from the dollar store. I tried to do that today - the spices... problem is there is no date on anything. I figure the next spice that comes in the door I will date, so it'll be easier next time.

Thank you for sharing the pictures Ginger!

I was just thinking about this yesterday when I decluttered my spices. At the moment, I have a few of the Tupperware spice containers - which I love for the spices I buy in bags or for the bulkier ones I buy, like Bay Leaves or Cinnamon sticks (sp?). I think I need more though - I have quite a few bags of spices which really should be sealed!!

I haven't done much decluttering, but I have been working at putting away a months worth of stuff around the house. I had stuff EVERYWHERE in bags that never got put away during the holidays. I also managed to pull a few things and have 2 grocery bags of stuff to take to Goodwill. That's better then nothing. With one more person in our home now, we have even less space. I have to stay on top of things and think creatively on storage.

I tossed some freezers meals w/ a best buy date in 2010 as well as some flavored mustard and Mayo in the pantry.

In front of my computer
DD and I dropped off one bag of un-used craft things to the thrift store. We each filled 1/4 a bag to bring home. Mostly tops, for some reason no one seems to donate pants to the thrift store unless they are old ratty jeans. I'm going to search for jean crafts.

One thing I need to finish this year are two Christmas stocking made out of dh's jeans for his two grandkids. Other wise those old ratty jeans are heading to the thrift store.
