Didn't know whether to place this here or in chit chat, this won out.
I was in a car accident this summer. It wasn't as bad as it could've been - while I 'walked' away, I soon realized that it was the shock of the accident that kept me mobile and I soon 'crashed'.
Months later, with great help from physio and other therapies, I no longer require my cane to stand or walk. There is still pain but it is tolerable and I have returned to work.
The reason I am sharing is that I also suffered a head injury, words do not come as easily to me now. With this there is also poor memory and a decreased ability to complete tasks, schedule and organize myself or day.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone here. While I could not log in, I did often read your posts and it made me feel connected and more positive.
As we enter into the holiday season, I hope you all take a moment for yourselves - you are wonderful.
