Going to Give this a Try...Again

I have tried for the last several years to keep on top of a cleaning and organization plan, but I never get past January. This year I want to make it to at least March! No, seriously, I really want to try to stay organized and clean the whole year. Last year I wrote out everything for the year on my calendar, but then I did not use it after January. I think staying in touch with this forum will help -- I was reading the posts and I really like the way ya'll support each other!

Wish me Luck!!

Jampass - I LOVE your lists! May I borrow them? They're not overwhelming -- and they really will make a huge improvement!

So, only a few people, including those of you here, will understand the blessing behind this:

My family seems to be cursed with some sort of 'holiday season pain in the heine house issue" that always comes up faithfully each year...one year, it was a toilet overflowing just as I'm getting ready to serve Thanksgiving dinner for 25 people (yes, it started 'raining' over my kitchen sink!)...another year, the furnace totally died on New Year's Eve after 5 pm....and this year, the sump pump switch died, leading to a minor flood in the basement on Dec 26th!

Now, the good news is that we caught it early enough that the cistern didn't overflow, and everything in my basement is stored in plastic tubs, and is up on shelves. SO, the clean up in the laundry area was relatively easy, BUT we had to take everything out of the craft room so we could shop vac the carpet as part of the clean up. Today, we started putting the room back together, so I took the opportunity to sort, purge, & reorganize this space into a craft room/art studio area for DD, who asked for and received a large amount of fine art supplies as part of her holiday gifts. I also was able to reorganize the holiday storage area!

DD is down there now, doing her thing, AND, I'm ahead of the game on the January Jumpstart! I'm also back on track with my daily routine, thanks to the posts and inspiration I found here! WOOOHOOO, and thanks everyone!

Awesome Berta! Well, not the flooding part, but the organizing and finding inspiration part! I find it here, too! Amen!!
