I've just discovered Amazon FristReads when I saw an add on FB. Although after further research, I discovered that they do send me emails which I ignore. If you are a Prime member and have a Kindle, it might interest you.
"Every month customers can choose one of the Kindle books selected by our editors for $1.99, or FREE for Prime members. This month, customers can also get a bonus short read for $1.99, or FREE for Prime members."
I hardly ever pay for a book since I can check them out at the library so easily. I'm also a little suspicious of free books as I wonder if they are not the best authors and are just trying to generate more interest. Although it's a good marketing strategy and could actually introduce readers to good and new authors that have gone unnoticed.
I did download one of the books and will see if I think the ones they offer seem worthwhile. The one I downloaded seems to be a pre-release and won't actually be available for purchase until December 1.
I'm curious where others get free Kindle books. Do you ever "loan" them?
