Picked up Ginger's idea and here is my Boo Bash (I already posted this in a thread called Halloween party), but it's gonna be easier to follow everyone if we do it all the same way.
Ok, I made up a list as if I will have a Halloween boo bash. Here's what I got for now:

Outdoors decorations
(not too many of these because we usually have rain, snow and wind a few days before and everything is blown away)
- Exterior lanterns in the steps (I have wide steps)
- Cobwebs everywhere with spiders.
- Ghosts in a circle
- Sign "Morgue"

Indoor decorations
- Kitchen (tattered curtains, specimen jars, bugs, spiders, rats, mad scientist theme, bones, test tubes, cobwebs)
- Kitchenette (witch kitchen theme - cauldren, jars of weird mixes and herbs, spell book, cobwebs, spiders)
- Bathroom (Gory shower-curtains & horror towels, blood-dripping candles, cobwebs, spiders)
- Living room (helium-ballon ghosts, tilt pictures on the walls, cobwebs, bats hanging from ceiling fan, tattered curtains, dustsheets on furniture, dead-witch under sofa, colored light bulb, coffing bowl on table for chips & dips)
- Downstairs (colored light bulb, dustsheets, bats, cobwebs, sign "trespassers Beware!!", garlic
"tresse")
- Bedroom "no trespassing under penalty of horrible painful death" sign on door.

Need to figure out Date (probably the 25th of October), How many people (hockey friends about - about 25), for supper or just for the evening.

Food:
- cocktail sausages: fingers in blood-red sauce
- Eyeballs (mushroom heads, filled with cream cheese and an olive)
- Dead-men fingers (pizza)
- Chips & dip for coffin bowl (guacomole & salsa)
- Head on a platter tray with colored vegetables all around...
- Spider punch (punch with spiders made of marshmellows and licorice)
- Horrible lemonade (served in a weird container, add a bit of green coloring with gummy worms)
- Meathead
- Desert: witch finger cookies
- Bloody popcorn (add red food coloring to melted butter)

Party invitations
- fingers in a box
- rats in a box (really nice small ones at the dollar store)

Spooky music

Games
- Mummy race
- Eyeball relay
- Pass the apple
- Musical tombstones
- Scary stories (maybe)
- House of horrors - touchy felly gross stuff (maybe)

Costumes to come...
Ok, I need help in writing gory or scary spells (I have very little imagination!) and if you have other easy non-expensive ideas (home-made is always nicer) go ahead... think I should look into having a blog too...

Here are some costumes ideas I have
costumes for me this year: hmmmm... maybe half-awake / half-asleep...
Half Asleep/Half Awake
Cut some "footy pajamas" in half, and sew one side to half a pair of pants and half a shirt. On the asleep side, put your hair in curlers, wear no make-up, keep and wear a slipper. On the awake side, curl your hair, wear make-up, and wear a shoe. Carry a pillow on your asleep side, and a briefcase on your awake side.

I like this one too (but the expression doesn't work in French.. I'll have to keep explaining it all day... but might work for the teens... they go to english school).
Raining Cats and Dogs
Attach an assortment of small stuffed cats and dogs to an umbrella. Wear a rain coat and rain boots.

Movie "The Birds"... old dress & attach fake birds pecking all over with blood where they peck, cracked glasses, tease hair, add scratches. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/391819/homemade_halloween_costume_idea_tippi.html?cat=24 or like this one http://www.orientaltrading.com/appl...ous-_-When Birds Attack Adult Women's Costume

Housewife
Hair in rollers, facial mask, pajamas, wool socks, slippers, bathrobe. Add accessories: TV guide & remote control in pocket, pillow, etc....

Hannibal Lecter
Orange sweatsuit (to look like a prisoner) and attach black tape around knees & elbows for the look of the costume, fake chains... here's a picture of what I mean.. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JL12Z2...e=380333&creativeASIN=B000JL12Z2&linkCode=asn

Ghoul black dress (prom or wedding)

Here's a list of some of our costumes over the years (always homemade ... mainly because DH doesn't see the need to put any money for Halloween except for candies for the kids).. but actually my costumes are different from the others and much nicer!

Last year I was dressed up as a titanic survivor .... old white bedsheets for a large skirtwith apron... I even made a life-jacket (I got a picture of an old one on the web).. but it was a bit bulky... and I wrote the Titanic on it ... with weeds in my hair... it was fun!!
My DD dressed up as Wilma from the Flinstones... found a white satin dressing gown and we added a bit of animal fur to dress it up at the collar and at the bottom (all with a glue gun) and small with styro balls made into a necklace.
My DS did not dress up last year and my DH NEVER does... but maybe if I have a Boobash this year he'll have to join the fun!!!

Over the years we have had:
- a soldier ( I made a small vest with army kaki material, the hat was a construction hat .. we cut of the front part so it was just round and put some army material over it),
- a spaceman (I spraypainted rubber boots in silver, with a yellow sweatsuit and a bit of silver material for a belt and a hat and cuff coverings),
- a princess (an old Christmas dress my mother had for ages),
- a Raggedy Ann (old red sweat pants with yellow bands of material to look striped, I made a blue apron and I found a striped shirt at the thrift store, and I made the wig from orange wool).
- a tiger (when they were small... just a fur bib with an easy hat to make out of fur and easy fur mitts)
- a pumpkin (bib, hat and mittens)
- a jester (bib, hat and mittens)
- a gypsy
- spaghetti bowl over the head (I glued brown pom-poms on my pants & shirt with pieces of a rag mop around to make it look like spaghetti & meatballs and a bit of red for the sauce and a pasta bowl on my head with rag mop glued into it).
- a scarecrow
- a witch ( I glued bugs on my black dress and put a black bird on my shoulder)
- a mermaid (made of the silver material left over from the spaceman)
- batman (old material given to me by a friend) and it was really a nice costume.. half black and half purple with a yellow bat on the front, a hat and a cape.
- A dinosaur (leftover purple from the batman)...
- A clown (with orange halloween pumpkins all over the material)
- Scary movie monster (DS wore this for 3 Halloweens... didn't want anything else)
- Freddy . Found a red and black striped shirt at the thrift store, an old hat of Grandpa's, and Freddy fingers at the dollar store.
- Man (for me a woman).. a expensive-looking silver jacket from the thrift store, with an ascot and Granpa's old hat.
- Cleopatra... dress made of old sheets.... with lots of golden jewelry.. and beads..
- Marilyn Monroe (dress from a thrift store & cheap wig)
- Construction worker for DS (my husband is a construction worker)
- Hippie
- scary doctor... thrift store green med outfit, white apron (full of blood), fake seringue in pocket, eyeballs, etc...
-,,,

I try to get a different costume every year if possible... but now I tell the kids they have to make their own (my daughter - 17- wore hers for the last two years) and DS - 15- doesn't want to pass halloween anymore.

Ok, here's what I plan to DO for next GPD:

- start costume (I think the half-asleep / half-awake one is the one for me)
- finish up buying supplies for other crafts
- I have the styro head for waiter tray but not the gauze.

The 1st is Canada day (so no work) and the 31st I'm taking a day off to have a long weekend. We will be gone saturday and sunday but I plan to start working on GPD stuff on monday.

I DID IT!!!

I made my halloween costume yesterday!! *tap on the back*

I finally made the half-asleep / half awake one. I took an old pyjama with pants and a button-up top and cut it in half (cut a little larger for the seams). I made a mark to know where the middle of the shirt (old shirt) was. I did not cut the shirt (would have been too complicated for me to join these), instead I put the pyjama top over half of it and I sewed it there - over the shirt (hope you can understand what I'm saying). Did the same thing with an old pair of pants.

I will wear my crocs on the awake side and I'm buying crocs-slippers this summer so I will wear one of these on my asleep side.

Awake-side: put make up and comb hair
Asleep-side: hair in rollers, maybe some cold cream,

These are the instructions I based my costume on: http://www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com/do-it-yourself-costume.html#c1
