Stick Weaving

While snooping around for homemade gifts, I came across this link about stick weaving. I've never heard of this before but I love how it looks. Is anyone familiar with this?

I have to try this with DD. I have been looking for something she can do as a hobby. She loves yarn and wants to sew and do crafts, but has poor motor and cognitive skills. Maybe if the sticks can fit into a stand she could make mug rugs, and small items. Thanks for the link
