    Gift closet 2018

    I bought some stocking fillers for my dds today - novelty stationary. Also bought dds a backpack/pull along luggage THING that they'll use for our holiday early in 2019.

    I never have to think about gathering cleaning equipment - dh gets it all for free. Our house is overflowing with antibac spray o_O

    So glad I found this thread! This morning I was doing the 'list' part of week 1 on HGP. Need to start earlier this year as I'm now home educating my dcs; less free time to go through the plan!

    Ahhh, my husband loves Cracker Barrel; unfortunately it's too far away for us to visit - we live in the UK! You American folks are lucky when it comes to celebrating fall/autumn/Halloween - nobody here really cares about it.

    My kids each have a Christmas themed fleece throw which is usually draped over the back of an old wooden rocking chair we have. We have wintery cushion covers tha t are switched over in November.

    I've got a wooden trug that I occasionally use to put smaller presents in and then place it under the tree, rather than a scattering of gifts around the base.

    I seen a picture of somebody using jars etc to display a mixture of water/floating candles/holly. Wish I could find the pic! simple yet pretty.

    My kids usually bring in a hoard of pinecones- sometimes they paint them with glitter glue, most often they're chucked around the house o_O Sometimes i cut some sprigs of holly and put them in a clear vase.

    I've stolen those for my own pinboard lol. Some years I buy an advent candle, but never really bother with candles and such. I'd love to, but I share my home with two clumsy children and a exceptionally clumsy man-child... Do fake battery operated candles count?

    some good ideas, I agree, they're very enthusiastic lol. Yeah, adding/swapping items is a good idea. I may be able to fit in a plant or two, I wonder if poinsettias would be ok

    Kitchen gets decorated with small items. I seen a picture on Pinterest of gift ribbon wrapped around cabinet doors that looked lovely. Not sure how long theyd last with steam etc.
