We pulled names for the kids gift exchange after dinner yesterday, so we can get those gifts now that we know who we're shopping for! Still figuring out what there is left to do. First on the list is to start the decorating, yea!!

LadyEvenStar -- I'm with you --- whittllng away! This is my Rudy Day Weekend -- and my goal is to have things done by December 1st! Hopefully -- at some point during this weekend, I will be able to figure out what still needs to be done! It IS fun though, isn't it!

I just saw a live helicopter camera showing pictures from a big mall in our state. And, at 4:00 in the afternoon, the parking lot is completely filled! Black Friday Shopping seems to be very busy!

I just picked up a few groceries! So -- I am relying on TV news to let me know how things are going!

Well, the wrapping begins tonight (even though the shopping isn't quite done), so hopefully I'll have all the presents that have to be shipped ready to go by Friday.

My other to do is to stop adding crafts to my list, I need to add them to Rudy days next year (thanks SparkleNana for the inspiration) and just put the supplies away instead of thinking I'll somehow find time to put anything together this year.

WOW, it's amazing to me the things that I get behind on when I slack off on this site. It also helps me to realize that I have A LOT to do to get ready for Christmas.

I plan to do what I can this year, but 2010 will be better.

Not sure I'm ready to admit how far behind I am even with several days off last week. First on my list is wrap one gift tonight after I dig it out of the gift closet (the plastic container is at the bottom of the closet). I meant to get this done over the weekend since I'll see her later this week. Then I have the one package to ship later this week (Wednesday or either next Monday which is mostly likely since I'd like to include pictures). So, I need to get those reprints done & the letter to include. By the weekend I plan to start decorating a little. I think that's all I can face at the moment since I'm working 6 days this week.

[ ] Finalize menu for Wrapping Party (next wknd)
[ ] Setup tables, bring out supplies, etc. for Wrapping Party
[ ] Clean for, cook for and host Wrapping Party
[ ] Wrap all presents, focusing on early December birthdays and gifts to be shipped 1st
[ ] Try to get at least 2-3 batches of cookie dough in the freezer pronto!
[ ] Bake cookies, pack tins and ship them plus presents by Dec 12th!!!
[ ] Finish shopping for gifts (only have a few things left)
[ ] Grocery shop for, clean for and otherwise prep for hosting Birthday Luncheon for DMIL and DLitleBIL (including baking the birthday cake)
[ ] Cook turkey for DH and I - use leftover meat for a big Freezer Cooking Session!!!
[ ] Decide on and prep take along items for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas morning brunch

We will have another mini-Christmas on New Years Day to prep for as well!

Plus I am trying to be vigilant at meal planning and freezer cooking since we will need as many easy to make/reheat meals as possible once the baby arrives in early Feb!

I am probably forgetting some things, but those are the biggies!

Arkansas-Go Razorbacks! Whoo Pig Sooie!
Good exercise for me. Maybe if I put it here for ya'll to see I'll get it done faster! LOL!

Christmasy things to do:
*Finish shopping-unfortuantely, this by necessity is going to drag out until Christmas week..but I've made a good dent and have altered some original plans so that I can get things done a little earlier.
*Finish decorating-just need to fill in some missing elements, using what I have. I've made a decision not to buy any more decorations this year until AFTER Christmas sales kick in. I will have to buy a couple of rolls of ribbon to finish. Some areas to finish up are:
1. Our bedroom and bathroom-need to put the wall tree up in the bedroom, but have to buy lights first. Put up tree in bathroom (it's my favorite one-this year all vintagy in creams, reds and browns, with old silvery accents...yummy!) and wrap some "faux gifts" to use for decor.
2. Hang wreaths in kitchen windows inside-get red or silver ribbon for this
3. Re-hang wreaths on outside windows-DH's job now, since my attempt failed miserably in the cold December wind and rain. He will do this this weekend.
4. Put Nativity sets out in living room and hallway. I think that's it, decor wise.
*Finish paper cones for gifts and decorations(maybe) and make fudge for gift giving (and snacking!! LOL)
*Make menus for Christmas Eve and Christmas breakfast. Buy groceries for all holiday events (in-laws celebrations on 12th, work brunch on 14th, Christmas dinner at Mom's on 25th, and our Christmas Eve celebration with bffs)

That's not all but that's what comes to mind immediately...

Cream
Brussels sprouts (well, collect from plot)

Purchasing - Gifts:
Sis's KK present (know it though)
My Gran (Mum's mum)
Aunt, uncle and 2 girls (my mum's sis)

Things are looking pretty good right now, but I've decided to wait on purchasing the last gift for my nephew until next week. He wants hermit crabs and I'm not sure how hard they are to care for, so I figure the closer I get them to the day we see them (day after Christmas) the better my chances of keeping them alive!

I've got three items left to wrap, cookies to make Friday and grocery shopping on Monday. The countdown was such a huge help this year! And of course I've got even more ideas for next year from all of the wonderful people here. :)
